Lately the interest and curiousity for The Ottoman Empire has arisen, as it once had all around the world when the Ottoman Empire was the largest empire on earth, and the cultural and economical heart of the world.
The Ottomans had comquered parts of Europe (balkans , a Turkish word for mountains) almost 150 years before they had conquered Constantinopel, the capital of Eastern Roman Empire, also known rhe Byzantine Empire.
100% of all neutral (non Turkish) historians agree that even though The Ottoman Forces was brutal, they always tried with diplomatic negotiations for years sometimes before they took the final step of Military Conquest.
All countries that fell under Ottoman rule, from the gates of Austrian city of Vienna, to Asian islands of Indonesia, to the Arab peninsula and all the North Africa actually got better human rights and their countries saw big improvements economically and religiously.
In Europe at the time, people could got burned alive if they mastered herbs and medicin that could cure head aches for example, while the Ottoman Empire paid one gold ducate, for each “so called Witch” that the Christian churche sent with boats to the Ottomans.
Europeans laughed to this fact that the “brutal Turks” actually paid the Europeans to pay and to do what the church thought they could have done themselves for free.
But the intention for the Ottomans was to build an empire built on knowledge and prosperity in all aspects of life, even medical. Now, this era was the flourishing era of The Ottoman Empire, while Europe dwelved in the dark ages.
The ultimate peak of The Ottoman Empire was during the reign of Kanunu Sultan Süleyman, known as the lawgiver for his subjects in three continents, since he was the only Emperor who established the same laws frim the gates of Vienna, to Asia and all of North Africa.
This was astonishing at the time, enabling all races, religions and genders the same exact laws all around the empire.
He was called Süleyman The Magnificent by the European powers, due to his amazing ruling and conquests.
Süleyman had been prepared for his important role of rhe Empires Sultan, the Khans of Khans, the King of Kings since the age of 4.
What the Empire didn’t take in considerarion was that Süleyman would fall in love with a Russian slave woman in his Harem, Roxelanna, also known to us as Hürrem sultan.
All sultans before and after süleyman never had their wifes as their closest confidant.
Süleyman had a whole harem to his disposal, inorder to ensure the Sultans heirs. But in Ottoman dynasty history, women never had political powers as Roxelanna had.
Women who gave birth to his royal highness was called gözde, and thus they were entitled Sultan, for example Hürrem became Hürrem Sultan.
Many people belive that after Süleymans death, all the empire was ruled by Hürrem Sultan through his son.
Hürrem Sultan is also believed to have been the reason why Süleymans other children from other women was killed, in order to ensure Hürrem Sultans own sons rule.
