Destan (Epic), one of the important historical series produced by Bozdağ Film, came to the fore as a production that tells the story of an imaginary heroine who has nothing to do with reality. The decor, accessories and high performances of the actors were talked about a lot. Ebru Şahin, the lead actress, who gained many talents, especially by taking special trainings for months, did a very successful job.
The Destan series was remembered as a project that was appreciated in all aspects, but we should not forget the fact that the audience could not see the second season due to the lack of support. The lack of appreciation of the new script was cited as the reason why the show didn’t continue, but the main concern was that the audience showed the expected high interest in the first season for a while, but then it was impossible to reverse the huge drop in ratings.
As a result, the series Destan was canceled after the final episode of the summer months was broadcast. However, the success of the series continues abroad. In September, at the Seoul International Drama Awards, along with Mahkum (Prisoner), Destan won the ‘best drama’ award.
The Destan series, which is not appreciated enough in Turkey, was sold to 31 countries, which was recorded as a very important success.
The last success story from abroad about the Destan series was that it was the only Turkish series to be nominated for the Venice TV Awards.
Within the scope of the Venice Television Awards, where participation from 27 different countries took place, the Destan series, which attracted great attention on the ATV screen and produced by Bozdağ Film, was the only Turkish series to be nominated in the Best Telenovela category.
The success of the series ‘Destan’ is also very high in the international market, the series has already been bought by 31 countries.
