In 1993, we attended the premiere of the TRT co-production “Nefes – Yer Eksi İki”, which is about intersecting stories in the difficult and harsh conditions of the Southeastern Anatolia Region; Governor of Istanbul Davut Gül, TRT Deputy General Manager Muhammed Ziyad Varol, producer Mustafa Cihat Durmuş, actors of the film Murat Yıldırım, İlker Aksum, Şahin Kendirci, Bestemsu Özdemir, Arda Anarat, Eren Hacısalihoğlu and the film crew attended.
At the premiere of the movie ‘Nefes – Yer Eksi İki’, which attracted intense participation, the actors posed on the red carpet before the screening and answered questions from the press.
Murat Yıldırım: It was a long process for us, but now we have come to the expected end. We will present you a movie now. Our film, in which we deal with a reality of Turkey, is a film for all of us. A very true story about police station raids in the 90s. Our writer Hakan Evrensel, our director Ozan Uzunoğlu, and all our actors worked hard on this film. There was a great responsibility on us. I hope we were able to fulfill it. ‘Them; ‘If you forget, it will die!’ said Captain Tayfun, and we wanted to remind him.
Ozan Uzunoğlu: First of all, it is a great pleasure for me to convey this true story so effectively with such a valuable staff. ‘Nefes Yer Eksi İki’ is not a movie we can just watch and pass by. Since it was based on the experiences of the real heroes there, I wanted the audience to have important ideas about the terrorism problem in Turkey in the 90s. We think that we have made a film that makes a note in history to underline the sacrifices made for these lands.
İlker Aksum: I play a war correspondent, but I have already been in the military for thirty years. My father is a fighter pilot. We are talking about terrorism here. We are a country that has been dealing with terrorism for 40 years. What we want to tell you is how damning and terrifying a thing terror is. I hope we get rid of this soon. Our producer Mustafa Cihat Durmuş made a lot of effort. I would like to thank our director, scriptwriter and staff once again.
