A serious mistake was made about the Yalancılar ve Mumları series!

The first two episodes of the TV series Yalancılar ve Mumları, which were broadcast on Fox TV, were very surprising when they received low ratings. Adapted from the BBC format Mistresses, the series has been reinterpreted in different countries before. So the Turkish adaptation is not the first. However, when the adaptations in other countries gave good results, it was decided to adapt it in Turkey.

There is no problem in the series in terms of cast and shooting quality. It is a great success to bring together important names such as Ceren Moray, Elçin Sangu, Şafak Pekdemir, Burcu Shadowdar, Feyyaz Duman and İsmail Demirci…

However, problems with the script of the series caused it to get off to a bad start. It would not be wrong to say that the TV series Yalancılar ve Mumları was not shown much interest by the audience due to the unexciting and unable to fully reveal the characters scenario.

Anibal Güleroğlu, one of the writers of Milliyet Blog, expressed the problem in the series with the following words: “It is a fact that the content, which seems to me to be adapted to the Korean version rather than the English or American versions, has a problem in the power of influencing the audience and in the presentation of the characters to the audience.

That’s why it’s inevitable to make my interpretation of “It’s floating in the air” for the series, which tries to convey the tension and drama together with the scenario written by Nermin Yıldırım.

As of the first episode, the characters introduced in general terms could not be given to us in a way that would create enough impact, neither with their moods nor with their private lives. While the information about all of them was handled with short transitions, we could not go into the depth of their characters. Moreover, we did not find any originality that would make the characters interesting.”
