The actors took history lessons for the Destan series! Bozdağ Film’s “Destan” series, which will begin its journey on the screen with its first episode to be broadcast on ATV on Tuesday, 23 November, invites the audience to a very different, unique and legendary story.
Production and project design belongs to Mehmet Bozdağ; Ebru Şahin, Edip Tepeli and Selim Bayraktar play the leading roles in “Destan”, directed by Emir Khalilzadeh and written by Ayşe Ferda Eryılmaz and Nehir Erdem.
In “Destan”, the preparation process of which continued for a year, intense work was carried out to bring the 8th century Central Asian life to the screen.
The consultants of the series are Prof. Dr. Ahmet Taşağıl, Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Doğrucan and Prof. Dr. Erkan Göksu gave theoretical lessons to the actors for three months about the period of the story and the life of that period.
Ebru Şahin said in her statement that these lessons were very beneficial for them. After the preliminary preparations were done well, the team that went on the set was more experienced in reflecting the spirit of that period.
Ebru Şahin drew attention to this point and used the following statements: “We took lessons from expert trainers such as sword training, close combat training, archery, archery on horseback. At the same time, we had lessons with history professors to reflect the spirit of the period.”
Ebru Şahin, who stated that she received more training especially in using swords, close combat, and shooting arrows, stated that all of these studies were very beneficial when they started shooting for the drama.
