Turkey’s leading community platform KızlarSoruyor announced the results of the “Inspiring Symbol Woman of the Year” survey, which was organized for the 8th time this year and given on behalf of the Kızlar One Step Forward social responsibility project, which has been broadcasting for the last 3 years with the aim of inspiring women in their education and career lives.
The survey plays an important role in shaping society’s perception of women. This year’s results also showed a strong representation of women’s influence and presence in society.
The 7 important women among this year’s candidates were names that made the power and influence of women felt in every field. However, a name that attracted attention with the work they did and deeply affected the society was chosen as the “Symbol Woman of the Year”.
The symbolic name, chosen by the KızlarSoruyor community with more than 10 thousand votes, became someone who took great steps to inspire women in their education and career lives.
Birce Akalay was chosen as the Inspiring Symbol Woman of the Year
Only one would be chosen among 7 amazing women, each of whom had achieved great success in their own fields and transformed society in a positive way. And finally, a name that has shed light on Turkey for years and stood out with its roles as the voice of women’s movements was deemed worthy of this honor: Birce Akalay!
Birce Akalay, who was chosen as the “Inspiring Woman of the Year” by KızlarSoruyor, became the symbol woman of the year with her fighting spirit, projects full of love and empathy, and her stance that courageously supports social change.
The names of the candidates in the survey and their vote distribution were as follows.

● Gupse Özay: 7% She is a name that creates empathy by explaining the difficulties women face in life in a humorous language.
● Feyza Altun: 6% A lawyer who works to raise public awareness on women-related issues.
● Müge Anlı: A name that helps by reaching different segments of society with 5% Sevgi İzi and wheelchair projects.
