Ebru Şahin’s Destan series has been a new journey for Ebru Şahin… Telling the epic story of a female character is not an example for Turkey. It is not an easy production to do this in the conditions of the eighth century.
Ebru Şahin wanted to rest for a while after the Hercai series, but she accepted the project because it was a job that might come before her once in her career. The actress is also very pleased to take part in this project.
The actress, who also went through a long and intense preparation process, prepared for this character with professional trainers lasting six hours every day. Ebru Şahin, who took sword, close combat, horse riding and archery training, entered a very intense and different environment that she had never experienced before.
The actress, who also worked with history professors at that time, said, “However difficult the process was, we created a character and story that stood on the ground when we got on the set. Challenges turned into pleasure with motivation.”
Expressing that they are trying to reflect a period told for the first time in Turkey with an epic language, the actress emphasized that they brought the series Epic to the screen with their conflicts, action, emotion and love.
Ebru Şahin expressed the difference and importance of the project with these words: “For the first time in Destan, she meets a story told through a female character. With a great team behind the camera, we live that period on an incredible plateau and bring the script to the screen. I don’t think success is accidental. We all work very hard in a project that has been thought through to every detail. We see this response from our audience with their returns.”
