Speaking to Hürriyet, Emir Benderlioğlu expressed his feelings with the following words:

“My mother is from Skopje and my grandmother is Bosnian. When this job came, I really got goosebumps. The story tells of a very special and sensitive period. The period that is also a part of my family.”

Stating that characters were created in a completely real story, Emir Benderlioğlu said, “Maybe the events we dealt with may not be exactly real. But similar events happened,” and provided important information about the story’s realism.

The actor, who said that he is 45 years old and that not having been to Skopje before caused him uneasiness, said that he experienced a very different intensity of emotions in this city.

Emir Benderlioğlu said, “I had a regret inside me about not being able to come to Skopje. I came here for the first time with this project. I have had different feelings here since the first day I arrived. There are people who migrated to Turkey in the 50s under very difficult conditions. I experienced a serious emotional atmosphere. I tried to do my best regarding this beautiful script and the character I played.”
