What happened before the 23rd new episode of the Kızılcık Şerbeti (Cranberry Sherbet) series, which is expected to be broadcast on Friday, April 14th, took the first place on the agenda. Well-known names from all walks of life criticized the ban on the series on social media.
After the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) ordered the series to be suspended 5 times in the previous week and Show TV appealed to the court, the fate of the series was very curious.
During the week, Show TV announced that the 23rd new episode will be broadcast on Friday, April 14. While all the viewers were eagerly waiting for the broadcast, the channel officials broadcast the documentary after the warning from RTÜK.
The audience, who encountered a public service documentary instead of the new episode of the series, protested this situation in the social media environment.
The 5-week suspension of women by the Radio and Television Supreme Council on the grounds of legitimizing violence inflamed the discussions.
Nurgül Yeşilçay, who starred in the Channel D series called Veda Mektubu (Farewell Letter), and Pınar Deniz, the lead role in the Yargı (Judgment) series on the same channel, were among those who reacted to this situation.
Nurgül Yeşilçay said, “Whatever is imposed on the Kızılcık Şerbeti is shameful! These people will not forget this”.
Pınar Deniz, on the other hand, asked on her Instagram account: “Why? Really why? You are sacrificing so many people. It’s a shame indeed.”
Barış Kılıç, who plays the character of Ömer, one of the leading actors of the series, also expressed his reaction to this situation on social media.
The famous actor wrote the following, using the meaning of the name of the series:
“To vomit blood and drink Cranberry Sherbet. That’s exactly what we wanted to convey.”
