Fashion designer Bahar Korçan, who has been fighting ovarian cancer since 2017, passed away at the age of 57. After the news of the death of the famous name, many famous names from the art world, including Tarkan, Fazıl Say and Yonca Evcimik, said goodbye to the famous fashion designer with their social media posts.
Tarkan shared his Instagram account; “You were a very special soul. You were such a beautiful heart. Nurlar, sleep in the light, my Bahar… I am so sorry.”
Singer Yonca Evcimik shared a photo of the famous fashion designer on her Instagram account and said, “My beautiful friend, the brave work you brought to the fashion world with your pioneering spirit and the brave works we did together will not be forgotten forever. I will never forget you either.”

Born in 1964, Bahar Korçan made a name for herself by winning the competition organized by ITKIB in 1992. Before the competition, he worked at Vakko for seven years. She opened Turkey’s first fashion design office in 1993.
Bahar Korçan, who was selected as the Best Designer at the Istanbul Fashion Days in 1999, dressed artists such as Tarkan, Sezen Aksu, Yonca Evcimik and Demet Akbağ, as well as the Modern Dance Ensemble and Ankara State Opera and Ballet at that time. Korçan also served as the president of the Fashion Designers Association.
