Kerem Bürsin explained the biggest deficiency in the series sets

Series Turkish

Famous actor Kerem Bürsin took the lead role in the romantic comedy series Sen Çal Kapımı with Hande Erçel. Both the popularity of the series in our country and the broadcasting in many countries of the world made a great contribution to the popularity of Kerem Bürsin.

The actor, who came to Turkey from the USA in 2012 and could not find a job at first due to her poor Turkish at that time, stayed in Turkey with the offer from the TV series Güneşin Kızları just when he was about to give up, and then took part in many projects.

The actor who was a guest of Mirgün Cabas’ program on the Gain platform, said, “You make this decision for something you believe in and you have to bear the consequences.” Kerem Bürsin stated that he participated in 80-odd auditions at that time and received positive response from only 2 of them.

Talking about the different jobs she has done so far, the actor said: “I worked as a waitress. I was a nightclub bouncer. I cleaned the toilets of a gym and washed the dirty towels. I’ve been a driver. I was also working part time at a social media company. I was going to auditions. I was sleeping in the parking lot at that time.”

The actor also opened the door to a new discussion by saying, “A man always saves strong women in scenarios.” Evaluating the industry in this respect, the following words of the actor were very meaningful:

“In front of the camera, in the making, behind the camera… There is a lot of work to be done in 360 degrees. Let’s start with the scenarios. Our hero concept is still from a very patriarchal place. In the scenarios I’ve read, there are strong women standing on their feet, but somehow a man saves them again. This is a nuisance.”

Stating that the situation in the scenarios is a global problem, Kerem Bürsin said, “We see very few women behind the camera. I’ve been on 6-7 drama sets so far. It was the first time a camera assistant was female on my last set. I worked once with a female cinematographer and once with a female director.”

Kerem Bürsin said, “There is a system etched into our DNA, there are many people who do not realize certain things,” and explained that when necessary, he talked to the scriptwriters and the director and tried to persuade them.
