Persona (Şahsiyet) is a Turkish-made internet TV series in thriller and crime genre, written by Hakan Günday, directed by Onur Saylak and signed by Ay Yapım. The series is broadcast on Puhutv.
The Persona was very popular both in terms of the cast and the subject. Important names such as Haluk Bilginer, Cansu Dere, Metin Akdülger, Şebnem Bozoklu and Hüseyin Avni Danyal took part in the leading role of the series. Haluk Bilginer was named “Best Actor” at the 47th International Emmy Awards for his performance as Agah Bey. Bilginer became the first Turkish actor to win an Emmy Award.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
Persona series, with its strong cast and original script, attracted great admiration from the audience during the period it was broadcast, and besides many awards, it also took its place in the list of the best TV series of all time in IMDB. Taking the 65-year-old retired forensic clerk officer Agâh Beyoğlu at its center and gathering the audience on the screen without a breath with his immersive scenario, Persona was designed as 12 episodes and reached more than 10 million singles in Puhutv where it was broadcast.
STORY:
Agâh Beyoğlu, a retired court clerk, lives a lonely and reclusive life in Beyoğlu, Istanbul’s most crowded and vibrant district. His daughter lives abroad, and his wife passed away years ago. This monotonous life of Agâh is turned upside down by the diagnosis of the Initiation of Alzheimer’s. Because of his illness, he will eventually forget all his memories. Even though he initially struggles against this reality, Agâh realizes that forgetting is an opportunity. An opportunity to commit a murder he has planned for years but has constantly postponed! Anyway, he will not remember this crime in the future, and he will not have a guilty conscience because he will not remember.
In addition, Nevra, the only female police officer in the office of murder, was on the verge of resignation due to the pressure on her. However, the murder decision taken by Agâh will completely change Nevra’s life.

PLACES:
The character Agah Beyoğlu of Haluk Bilginer, who gave life to a man with Alzheimer’s disease, also gives a clue as to where the series was filmed. As mentioned in the name of the main character, the series was shot in Beyoğlu. Located on Jurnal Street in Beyoğlu’s Asmalı Mescit District, the 8 and 10 flats of the building are frequently seen on the screen. The building is also visited by many people who want to take pictures. Apart from places such as Beyoğlu, Şişhane and Tünel, the series also reveals many iconic places of Istanbul. In Persona, filming took place in various locations from Beykoz grove to Riva, from Riva to Çamlıca Hill.
The Kambura Region, where the Agah character worked in the past, is actually not included on the maps, the scenes here were shot in Gölyazı, a tourist town in Bursa’s Nilüfer district. Sensibilities, TURKEY AND A FIRST was to unleash Haluk Bilginer
Haluk Bilginer was named “Best Actor” at the 47th International Emmy Awards for his performance in Persona. Haluk Bilgin of Turkey is the veteran actor, it became the first Turkish actor winning an Emmy Award. The 65-year-old actor dedicated his award to his daughter Nazlı Bilginer, whom he hoped to become an actress one day.
In his speech in Turkey Haluk Bilginer Emmy’s was one of the number one item on the agenda. When Bilginer appeared on the stage, he first said ‘hello’ in Turkish and then continued his words in fluent English. Master player; “The character series is about justice and amnesia. But this is not a person’s memory loss, but society. This is the most dangerous of all, ”he said.
