51-year-old actor Ayberk Pekcan, known to the audience from popular productions such as Ihlamurlar Altında, Yaprak Dökümü, Kurtlar Vadisi and Keşanlı Ali Destanı, was diagnosed with lung cancer. The famous actor said in a statement that the tumor had spread to the liver and adrenal glands.
Most recently, the master actor who gave life to the character of ‘Artuk Bey’ in Diriliş Ertuğrul, broadcast on TRT1, announced the sad news on social media. Ayberk Pekcan went to the hospital with a complaint of back pain and was shocked by the news he received.
In his statement on social media, the actor said that the tumor had spread to the liver and adrenal glands, and announced that he started chemotherapy.
In his statement, he said, “Dear friends, the process that started with the doctor I went to ten days ago with a complaint of back pain has come to this point today. I have lung cancer,” said the actor’s fans, and called on your health wishes and prayers.
In 2010, Ayberk Pekcan’s feature film Saç, in which he played the leading role, received awards at national and international film festivals. The actor was awarded the best supporting actor award at the 23rd Ankara International Film Festival for his performance in the movie called Aşk ve Devrim, which was released in 2012.
