The role of Özge Özpirinçci, one of the leading actors in Show TV’s ambitious series “Sandık Kokusu” (The Smell of the Chest), produced by O3 Medya, written by Melis Civelek and Zeynep Gür, creative consultant by Zeynep Günay, and directed by Nezaket Coşkun. He explained the different aspects of the project that appealed to him.
Stating that the project was brought to her by Saner Ayar and Zeynep Günay, the beautiful actress explained what influenced her the most as follows;
“I really liked that it was a mother-daughter story and that it chose to address the problems in this mother-daughter relationship. Because now I am also the mother of a new daughter. For this reason, it is a relationship that I am really curious about. I’ll see. The excitement of the scenario and the story was the biggest attraction at first. Later, when we sat down and talked and everything else was completed for me, I accepted the project and day by day I said ‘I’m glad I did it’. “Be it the casting work or the stage work we did with our actors and directors beforehand, it added a lot to me and showed me once again that in most cases, the process is at least as valuable as the result.”
She said the following about the shooting process of the series: “After shooting in Adana for 2 weeks, we came to Istanbul and continue here. The set is very fun because I feel like the more heavy drama you do, the more fun the set should be because the two need to balance each other for me. Otherwise, I think there would always be a heavy atmosphere on the set. We get along very well, the whole team. “I hope we will continue like this until the end of the season.”
She summarized the things that made her accept this project and the highlights of the story as follows;
“I can say that the biggest thing that made me accept this story is the script. For me, this is actually the case in all projects. Scenario first. If I believe in the script, if I love it, and if I believe that I can portray the character, the rest can often be solved. In general, I was excited to portray a character with a different socioeconomic situation than the characters I play on television, but to also be able to show this as a three-dimensional character. At the same time, it is very exciting for me to work with these names: Zeynep Günay, Nezaket Coşkun, Melis Civelek, Zeynep Gür. At the same time, Ulaş Hodja is our second director. We worked with him 10 years ago. Working again with people I’ve worked with before gives me a bit of a boost professionally. It is very enjoyable to see from someone where I was 10 years ago, what I did, what I have contributed in the past 10 years. And of course, playing mother and daughter with Demet Akbağ… What more could I want?”
Sandık Kokusu, which brings together master names such as Özge Özpirinçci, Demet Akbağ, Metin Akdülger and Necip Memili, is on Show TV on Wednesday at 20.00.
