The sad detail behind Ferhan Şensoy’s death; Master Artist was getting ready to become a grandfather!

Ferhan Şensoy, the veteran of the Turkish theater, died in the hospital where he was treated in the morning. The news of the death of the 70-year-old artist was announced by Ortaoyuncular, of which he was the founder. It was learned that 70-year-old Şensoy, who was hospitalized on July 2 due to internal bleeding, passed away due to cardiovascular diseases and respiratory failure.

Şensoy’s loss shocked the art world. The master artist, who had two daughters named Derya and Müjgan, who came to the world from his marriage to the actress Derya Baykal, whom he divorced in 2004, was experiencing the excitement of being a grandfather. Her 32-year-old elder daughter, Müjgan Ferhan Şensoy, was nine months pregnant. However, the master artist died before he could see his granddaughter Pera, just days before his birth. Müjgan Ferhan Şensoy shared the message “My father flew to the sky” on his Twitter account after the news of his death.

The death of the great master also saddened his fans and artist friends. Artist Özkan Uğur talked about his last phone call with his close friend in a post on his Instagram account. Uğur said goodbye to his close friend with the following words;

“In our last phone conversation, he was going to stage the play They Shoot the Kings too, we were going to be together. After returning from the military in 1980, Fuat composed the music for Ferhan Şensoy’s Shahları Also Shoots. He said, “Come, let’s sing and perform with acoustic guitars.” Then we made the music for the play “Hero Grocery Super Market” and took part in the stage from time to time as actors. I swallowed the first dust of the theater in Ferhan Şensoy Ortaoyuncular. It was like conservatory education for me. Ferhancı, thank you very much for everything you taught at Ortaoyuncular. We had unforgettable days at the Yapı Endüstri Merkezi and Küçük Sahne theaters. One day, Mazhar had come from Ankara to watch the play They Shoot the Shahs Too. He said that he was very impressed with the game and its music; and he wrote new lyrics for two songs in the play. The propellers turned (Ele alone against the day) Don’t eat pain, you O Süreyya (Loneliness is for life) song. May God have mercy on him, I am so sorry and condolences… Master pen, we lost a great artist. An era has ended. I wish patience to his family, theater community and fans, rest in peace Ferhancı.”

Ferhan Şensoy’s funeral will be buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery, following the afternoon prayer to be held at Teşvikiye Mosque, following the ceremony with limited participation at the Ses Theatre.
