Uğur Yücel is cherished in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz set!

The fans and the audience of the series were also very happy when the master actor Uğur Yücel, who made his name written in golden letters on Turkish cinema and screens with the unforgettable films he starred in and directed, was included in the cast of ATV’s legendary series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz.

Uğur Yücel, who appeared before the audience with the character of “Urfalı Ağa” in the series, answered the questions of İlker Gezici from Sabah Newspaper at the weekend. The master actor also made striking statements about the process of joining the series and his character in the interview.

Uğur Yücel, who is known to be selective about projects, answered the question “How did you get convinced to take a role in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz?” with the following words; “ OOfff choose, choose, choose… I’m done bro. We have come to such standards that; ah, i wish i was in this, i have no place to say. Including movies. I have never used this word in my life. I’m back to my work again. I had fun in the Fatma series. I had a good time. Uysallar has not been published yet. Then I went to the set with pleasure.

And a bit of information: I don’t go around my pocket with acting like that. It’s like a world I don’t know. I am not exaggerating, anyone who knows closely knows. I prepare for every role like an exam. It’s a hassle, so it’s the first time for me. If I find any fun, it will flow. I was completely back on the stage again before the pandemic. I was just going to shoot my own movies and do shows and plays. It did not happen.”

The Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz is a series that has been going on for seven seasons, I knew. I never watch serials. I’ve been looking through a couple of episodes. Sometimes they point out new players, I watch my friends. I don’t watch myself. But when it comes to acting in the series, I started to scrutinize it.

The set is very experienced and has years of harmony. When we first met with our screenwriters, we thought almost the same things about the character. Well, in terms of age and experience, we have a brotherhood and uncle status on the set. They pay homage, but apart from that, they have a very warm enthusiasm. Some of my fellow players felt it too. It’s refreshing in that sense. I am ashamed of their love respects.”

Well, what does the master actor think about the life style and philosophy of life of the character of “Urfalı Ağa” played in the series? “I love Urfa, people from Urfa, their tables and of course their folk songs. There is room for both raw meatballs and kebabs in my house. Friends from Urfa do not miss my pepper and tomato paste. My past is Istanbul, a child of the Bosphorus. But I am from Anatolia. Born and raised in Kuzguncuk, I was a drummer, musician, theater graduate, jazz musician, rocker when I first went to Urfa.

When I returned, I sang the folk songs in the Muhsin Bey movie. In fact, Urfa reminded me of my Anatolian essence. In recent years, we have been caught in Antakya. That is the world I find very close to. Diyarbakir, Antep, Kars, Rize mountains… My solution resides there. If we go back to the beginning, there will not be such a deep Urfa dialect or way of life, for now, the show will have a breeze.”
