Family: He was born and raised in Fatih, Istanbul, originally from Trabzon on his father’s side. On December 18, 2012, he married his co-star Aylin Kontente in the program “İnsanlar Alemi”. The couple has two sons, ages 3 and 8.
Education life: After completing her theater education at Müjdat Gezen Art Center, he studied at Indiana University Theater Department in the USA.
Career: Acted in formations such as City Theaters, DOT, IUSB (USA), BKM. He acted in various movies and TV series. He performed the theater play “Cave Mani”, the longest one-man play in Broadway history, for the first time in Turkey. He acted the single actor game that started on October 2, 2009 at BKM for one season. He staged the one-man act called “Babamın Oğlu”, which he wrote in 2010, in Turkey and Europe for 3 years. He received the ‘Author of the Year Award’ with the AUT theater play, which was staged for the first time in 2010. The theater play “Barcelo”, which he wrote in 2011, was staged on the second floor of the theater. After the comedy theater program ‘5’er Beşer’, which started on ATV in 2011, he designed and acted in the programs of ‘İnsanlar Alemi’ and ‘Güldür Güldür’, which started on Star TV and were the continuation of this program.
First step into acting: He first appeared in front of the cameras in 1997 with the movie ‘Hammam’.
Which project did it shine with? In 2005, he attracted attention with the character of “Cesur Azizoğlu”, which he portrayed in the TV series “Aşka Sürgün”.
Mindset: He describes the biggest breaking moment in her life as the moment he became a father. “You are entering a period where you question everything in order to be a good father. Women often enter this obscurity alone. So brave of you. Also; For God’s sake, what is it to bring a child out of your belly? There is nothing you can go above. A miracle is happening before your eyes, you just watch in amazement. When you become a mother, you see another side of your wife. They are very equipped. So surrender yourself. Resist I think. They’re a higher version of you. While you learn on the road what to do even after you become a father, a woman knows the moment he becomes a mother. I think that if we can raise a self-sufficient, independent, free-conscience, questioning, compassionate individual, we will do our job properly.”
Source of happiness: His children and wife are the greatest source of happiness in life. “I have had a beautiful life. I found Aylin at the age of thirty-eight and got married. If Aylin had appeared before me in my early thirties, I might not have appreciated Aylin. I wouldn’t have had the experience to tell if he was the right person. That’s why I say there’s a time for everything. It was thirty-eight when I was ready. I became a father for the second time at the age of forty-three. Considering that the average children in Turkey start to stand on their own feet after twenty-five, I have to work until I am seventy. And of course I have to be healthy.”
Her view of love: “Aylin was born in my life like the sun, she became my angel. I think she saved my life. I was living very messy, thanks to her I became a completely different person. I understood the value of being a family and sharing life. At that time, we were shooting ‘Human Realm’. As soon as he saw her at BKM, he said, ‘This girl is very beautiful. What is he like? Is it out? I said, ‘I’ll learn about them right away. Two weeks later, I said to him, ‘We will marry you’. He was surprised, of course, he thought I was crazy. I love Vazelon Monastery in Trabzon. I was showing Aylin her photos and saying, ‘I’ll take you here when you get married’. He was looking at me strangely. Everything I said happened after about 8 months. Aylin is one of the purest, innocent, humble and intelligent people I know. It is very difficult to remain as naive as him in our industry. I say from the heart; God sent me Aylin. I found the woman I was looking for, my companion towards my 40s.”
How his life changed when he became a father? When he becomes a father, he thinks he is a more compassionate person. “I started to get nervous and worried about the injustice done to children. I have become more tolerant of children. As a result, I liked children more.”

His outlook on life: His top priority in life is to raise clean, conscientious and honest children. “I think he should have a parenting license. Maybe 100 years from now, some societies will have a license to have children. The family is the building block of society. My hometown is my family. This society needs clean and honest people. That’s our goal in our own little hometown. I don’t want to give advice to anyone, but I wish everyone would take a look at the situation in their own little hometown.”
Views on business life: Before acting, he did a lot of work, he loves working. “I had a boutique hotel and a horse farm in Cumhuriyetköy. I ran a restaurant in Esenler Bus Terminal, worked at a courier company, sold bus tickets, drove a pickup truck, worked as a clerk. I like to work. God bless you, I will not spare myself. We actually do a very stressful job at Güldür Güldür Show. We fill BKM’s 720-seat hall every week. Moreover, we do not appear in front of the audience after working for 1 month. There are times when our memorization is difficult to grow. We became a very good team. We are like a football team; When one of us falls, the other picks up, we pass well, when one of us scores, we rejoice together and run to the hut. When we go on stage, time stops for us, everyone is trying to produce a funny, decent and clean work by passing each other with their hearts. This sincerity is passed on to our audience as well. When I’m writing a act, my pen doesn’t go to the rosy stuff. I tend to write more about what I see as a problem in society. I face my troubles and write them down. I don’t think I’m going to write a comedy-style act. We are already fulfilling our mission of making you laugh with the ‘Güldür Güldür Show’. What happens behind the scenes is no different. It’s been ten years. We grew up together. We have come to know each other so well… The time we spend together is more than the time most of us spend with our families. Except for a few months in the summer, we spend almost all of our time together. We are a team that tours on days other than shooting. We meet with our audience in every city we can reach. We are a good company. I love my family.”
Writing career: His last novel ‘Dışarıdakiler’ came out in 2020. He has a different excitement. “I always dreamed of a village where no one hurts anyone, where women are equal to men, where people who care about animal rights, protect their children and respect nature live together in peace. Imagining this village, which lives on the basis of love and respect, and where there are no lies, provided me with a shelter where I could escape from the troubles of daily life. Thinking about that place and its people felt like therapy to me. One day I found myself writing this story. It is such a real place for me that I can say that it made me write itself.”
Career plan: “We have a new movie. Selçuk Aydemir directed the novel “Mahalleden Arkadaşlar”. I acted there. I don’t know when it will be released, but I have two sweet compositions in that movie. It will be released, I will share it as soon as possible. I love to act extraordinary situations that ordinary people fall into. Situation comedy gives different and marginal feelings to the protagonist of the event. Dramatic, sometimes tragic for the survivor, it’s hilarious for the viewer.”
What does he do at home? He loves to cook and goes to the kitchen when he is at home. “I’m good with the kitchen, I tempered my wife by making caramelized chicken with onions. I like fish very much. Although I haven’t been able to cook fish at home since the day I got married, I do well with steamed potatoes in the oven. Unfortunately, we can only have breakfast together when we work. Our working hours always prevent us from sitting down to dinner together. I am also very attentive to evening tables sitting together. We do not skip the holidays and special days. We’ll all be at the table together. At home, Aylin has the word in the kitchen.”
