Pets: She has a cat.
Family: Born in Zonguldak. She moved to Izmir with her family when she was 4 years old. “I grew up with my mother and brother, there was no older man at home. My mother was like both a man and a woman. It taught me to stand alone, without needing anyone. Actually, it is not right to keep this tail upright. It can prevent you from experiencing a lot of sharing about life. Getting married and starting a family are things that scare me a little. The family in which a child grows up is very important. Then there are a lot of people who don’t know how to love. It is a pity that a family should be established immediately, everyone should have children, and women only exist to be mothers. The sanctity of motherhood is not something I believe in too much. It is bad that people do not have children using their own free will. Don’t let the train run away, oh the biological clock is not full, there is always something you need to catch up. Your decisions about life are booming.
Childhood years: Being an actress was something she wanted since her childhood. “When I entered the theater group of the school while studying at İzmir Karataş High School, I realized that this was all I wanted. Then I finished the Ankara State Conservatory and came to Istanbul. That’s when I started to understand real life; I understood that the most basic fact is to feed the stomach. Then one starts to calculate “how long you can feed without doing bad things”. At this point, you have to come to terms with something. The problem is: How far can you compromise without hurting you? ”
Education life: She finished primary, secondary and high school in İzmir. She graduated from Ankara Hacettepe University State Conservatory in 1995.
The first step to acting: She started her television adventure with the character ‘Özgür’ in 1997 in the ‘Dış Kapının Mandalları’ series.
With which project did she shine? She drew attention with the character “Cennet”, which she portrayed in the “İkinci Bahar” series.
Personality traits: “When everyone looks at me, they see something else. Sometimes you have to move around in different places, not to be able to stop. I am a passionate woman, I do not adore time, I walk with it. But I just couldn’t go after what she loved, I just couldn’t be such a woman. That’s what I don’t have indispensable. ”
Social: She likes to be alone, she especially enjoys going to the movies alone. “I try not to be with people who will force me to act differently than I am. I am someone who needs to be left a little bit alone. When I socialize for two days in a row, on the third day I get confused, I fall apart. I’m trying to tidy up right now. Such a pace is too much for me. Being in a constant crowd was something that used to be in my life. Now I try to spend my time as I want, wherever I want. ”
Mindset: “We call the time between the goals we set and reaching them as life. This has never changed, the sameness is tragic. Everyone wears the uniforms that are cut out while trying to differentiate. Our reflexes and expressions to life are fabricated, we speak with the same words. We express what we feel with not our own words, but with slogans with well-established patterns. Even our condolence sentences are the same. Anger is precious, it is impossible not to be angry. I don’t understand people don’t get angry. Of course, anger shouldn’t rule you, because anger manipulates and really pushes you away. I channel my anger into my work and use it as the power to act. It is important to start off with awareness, every road is already long for those who do not want to set out. That is why a person without anger is morbid. Aren’t we pretending that nothing is happening anyway? Can’t we close our eyes? These “nothing happened” makes me very angry. ”
What kind of person is she on set? She realized that the script was the most precious thing after the “İkinci Bahar” series he starred in. “After the İkinci Bahar, I think I realized that everything was headed by the script, that the actor came after him, that the works written with a haircut didn’t need luck, and these things were not that simple. I realized that if you don’t have a good script and crew behind you, there is no point in laughing and having fun on the set or being ‘like a family’. This made me a hard-to-find, sometimes grumpy person. But then I realized that a job like İkinci Bahar could never happen again and I had to get used to the realities of life. ”
A source of happiness: As soon as she comes to Istanbul, she considers it very valuable to have the chance to play a role with master actors in the “İkinci Bahar” series. “After being accepted to the İkinci Bahar, I thought that there was a mistake and that this mistake would be returned as soon as possible, and I waited for a phone call at home. I thought it would be said, “Sorry, we can’t work with you.” Being in such an ambitious job as a newcomer to Istanbul and looking for a job is probably one of the greatest favors of life for me. I remember your first scene with Şener Şen, I was very excited and I think it was clear from my state that Şener said, ‘We are both in the same situation right now. I am not different from you. We will try to do whatever the director tells us. ”He tried to make us feel equal. What better be said to a young and confused actor? Your panic grows in the face of their modesty. In fact, it can be said that I grew up with them.
Something that cooks people there, raises their standards. there is. On the other hand, your character is being formed among these people. For example, if a player like Şener Abi wanted, he could intervene in so many things and he has a right to it. But while he was working, he acted no different from us. This is such a great support for a young person. Türkan is very sweet, very kind. She was always on her own. Şener Şen and Türkan Şoray incident never happened. We were dressing in the same room, undressing in the same room, sharing the same tea and the same food. This situation made me respect them much more. These are such big names. While you are thinking about how to put two words together in front of them, you start to play together. Their sensitivity and delicacy affect people more deeply. They are where they are now because they are like this. ”
First motion picture: Fide Motan / Yanlış Saksının Çiçeği
Her gaze on love: “What matters to me is the quality of the relationship I build, closeness. Marriage was not a target in my life. I do not think my life will change by signing. We live in a system that is fast and looks like it has too many options. Relationships are now based on instant approval and approval. We have a picture of happiness, love, affection imposed on us in our heads. It is a picture that is artificial, unreal, not suitable for life, and everyone is after. We have become like the rule of being successful is to have a happy relationship. Happiness is not something that can come with prescriptions. Women are being chased after this formula by the system. If you are part of the picture, you are treated as if it is what matters. ”
Her attitude to life: “Life is formed by the closeness that a person establishes with himself. We are looking for people who will suit us, who will not humiliate us, and who are suitable for our socioeconomic status. Everything is such a showcase that we are all in this showcase. Everyone is interested in being better, nobody is interested in ‘good’. The desire to be happy, his greed is only okay if there is a man next to you, if you are married, then you are as if complete. ”
Her view of business life: She both plays and writes scripts, she thinks acting nourishes her writing. “It feels like I couldn’t write a script if I wasn’t an actor. I can say that I learned everything I learned about the script by acting. While I was working on sets, I found myself getting closer to writing a script as I reflexively analyzed why the disrupted scenes were interrupted and why good scenes were good. Also, I think I play every character inside of me while I write, I voice it and I write like that. But even if I make a comparison, my feelings seem to change from time to time. Sometimes writing becomes more important, sometimes acting.
I think the humor of women is very developed. Because you have to deal with a lifelong nonsense, the nonsense of whether they are actually equal with men, to get stronger against it, and to develop a defense mechanism. I think humor is a bit about breaking down meaning and remaking it. Women are just more courageous now. They are stronger. More precisely, they are aware of their strength. Therefore, it seems as if female comedians and writers started to appear more and more in the world. Understanding and interpreting the world through the eyes of women is very valuable, perhaps enough to save humanity. I think we are slowly beginning to witness the realization of this. If there will be a revolution, let women make that revolution. Art and power can never and should never come together. Art is oppositional, it feeds on this, but power cannot direct art. “
Career plan: She attaches great importance to the scenario in the selection of the project. She also writes the script of the TV series ’10 Bin Adım (10 Thousand Steps), which was broadcast on a digital platform where he played the leading role with Engin Günaydın. “Whatever is told is the scenario that matters. I always go back and look at the script. Of course, we should not forget the surreality of the duration of the TV series at the moment. “10 Bin Adım” is our project with Engin. When it came to mind, we liked it but then we forgot. How is it done in a medium? Is it done? Do people also like what we see and love? These were pending. We did not think much about it and continued with our lives. But our producers, Faruk and Nisan, never stopped following the moment we told them about this idea.
At the same time, I would like to express the vision of Gain Media here. They loved and wanted this different content that had not been done before. Then I wrote the scripts and we shot them. Of course, it made me very happy that people also love a job we love and believe in. I can say that there was hope. I am talking about digital platforms, that there are different channels to do our job, it makes you breathe. This is a very important development. But I hope the same shantytown doesn’t happen on this side. ”
Concerns: She finds it worrisome that the duration of the series is getting longer. “The duration of the İkinci Bahar was 50 minutes on average before anything else. People’s television watching habits were different. 50 minutes was enough. Nobody wanted more. There was no such information. Then this time was not enough for someone greedy. I still don’t understand why they make more money when they are taller like now, what kind of math is there. But the times have been increased little by little and become inhumane today. It was only 90 minutes when the domestic TV series took an unwarranted long action. I still laugh at this when I see the current times. The sector has grown since then, but if we look at the issue of quality and quantity, I think this was a growth like squatter housing. ‘Behind the Second Spring was a long period of work and a lot of equipped creative people. The number of episodes to be shot was obvious at the very beginning. It was made with a mentality that cares about the audience, respects it and does not make it stupid. I think this is the main difference. I don’t think the audience is respected, but I also don’t think the audience respects the 150-minute series. ”
How is she with social media? She prefers to use social media in a controlled manner. “It’s a controlled garden. People are shouting and screaming on Twitter. They cleanse their conscience and relax with the anger of others. Of course, there are some valuable ones among them, but the rest is story. Have you been there once while gathering in Galatasaray for Saturday Mothers? What did you do for Hrant Dink? Examples are unfortunately many. Social media creates an upper identity. People chant, “I am also desperate, I am also an opponent, I am also a victim, but I am not sparing.” Sometimes I want to go out and say ‘let’s disperse!’
