Family: She was born and raised in Mersin. She is the daughter of the famous horse breeder Ahmet Tokdemir. Her father passed away in 2015. She married Göksel Gencer, one of the Beşiktaş goalkeepers of the time, in 2003. She had a son named Boran Göksel Gencer from this marriage. She broke up with her husband in 2009.
Education life: She graduated from Private Akdeniz Palmiye College. She graduated from Bilkent University Tourism and Hotel Management Vocational School in 2000. While she was studying at the university, she joined the school’s theater group and later studied Singing and Theater at Zirve Art Center.
The turning point of her life: She became a mother at the age of 25, she did not work at that time. She decided to start acting at the age of 28 and the course of her life changed. Her family did not support her decision at first.
The first step into acting: She started her television adventure in 2009 with the character of ‘Ceren’, which she portrayed in the TV series ‘Istanbul Çocukları’.

It puts them all in very different places. “We are in one-on-one communication with the audience in the theater and there is no repetition of the ‘moments’ we live. We can reach wider audiences with movies and TV series. In both cinema and television acting, we have the chance to replay scenes from different angles with many repetitions. And the audience can archive a movie and watch it again years later. No matter how long we have working hours in serials, the episode shot that week is consumed within the time allotted to that series. The actors say they looked at the script and chose a job. There are a few actors who are really stars in Turkey and they choose the TV series they want.”
Career Plan: There are some roles she says she won’t play. “I don’t want to say big words. What I am sure of is that; I don’t accept the role I won’t play, I play the role I accept. Just as someone else’s truth may be my fault, my truth may be someone else’s fault and I can say, ‘I would never play a woman who makes love’. This may not be a professional truth, but it is my truth. The character may be making out in the lovemaking scene, but in the end, the body is my body.”
Music career: She is also involved in music, sings. “I released two singles. I wrote the lyrics for the song “Only” in the Ajda Pekkan album. I do not go on stage, it seems that this job is not for me when there are so many valuable names in the market who have given their years to this profession. Stage offers are coming, but I don’t accept them because I don’t feel ready yet.”
