Family: Born in Erzincan, his family moved to Kartal, Istanbul when he was 40 days old. He has two siblings. “I remember a lot about my childhood; It’s kind of funny, but my grandfather has a mountain in the country. They bought it from the state years ago, operated it as a lime kiln and later closed the quarry. I say to Soran that my grandfather has a mountain. However, we were living in a one-story, roofless house in Kartal. Kartal is an interesting and different place in all aspects. It is at the forefront in art, as well as in performances. Those living in Kartal, when they see a negative situation, immediately take to the streets and want to seek their rights.”
Childhood years: He stuttered as a child, he overcame his stuttering when he started theater. “My mother didn’t find our neighborhood very safe, she wouldn’t let me out so easily to play. Mine was just a childhood. Then I flourished a little, went to baglama, sang in the choir, played basketball and football. I was not good with the lessons, but I would still pass my class. My friends and I signed up for the CHP youth branch. I went to folk dances there, I did kickboxing. Then one day our sisters sent me to a theater course. I didn’t stutter before theater and thanks to him I got over it. Workers district, Bertolt Brecht and Eagle Art Theatre. They really taught us well. Despite my father’s objections and warnings that “you will starve”, I had decided to become an actor. At that time, I worked as a salesman at Nestle and a salesman at Real Hypermarket. I tried but couldn’t get into the conservatory. Müjdat Gezen Art Center (MSM) opened the doors to acting for me.”
Education life: After graduating from Müjdat Gezen Art Center Conservatory, he joined Beşiktaş Culture Center players.
First step into acting: He started his television adventure with the 2004 TV series “Kalp Gözü”.
Which project did it shine with? He attracted attention with his character “Yaşar” in the TV series “Hatırla Sevgili”.

I look like my father, and he can’t stand still. He used to work at the Devlet Su İşleri’nde (DSİ), but he also did many other jobs. He calls me ‘atom ant’.”
Hobby: He has a passion for music and the sea. “I always had a passion for diving. I love being on the sea with my boat. Also, how can people not have an interest in the sea in our country? We live in a country almost surrounded by seas on all four sides. The more sailors we become, the more developed our country will be. And such a beautiful sea is nowhere in the world. It is impossible to stay away from it. It is thought that shipping is expensive, but it is not. You don’t pay more for a marina than you pay for a parking lot in Istanbul. It is not known much, but I started music long before acting. I have been playing an instrument since childhood. I continued my singing education after school, played in musicals for a long time, sang in many projects involving music. In short, I love making, listening and singing music.”
Mindset: “We are now heading towards the days when actors and actresses are at the forefront, not models. I get very angry at the agitation-prone, juicy slapstick productions. It’s not nice, it’s not right. We need to get rid of the works done in Yeşilçam years ago and bring the colors of real life to the screen. I put on a hat and glasses and go out on the street and learn what people like and what they react to. I can’t stop producing, if I want to be an actor like Uğur Yücel, I have to move forward and set my goal.”

In both MSM and BKM, I learned to ask the most questions and to be original. The work of Müjdat Hodja and Yılmaz Abi on me and my friends is great, their vision and leadership has led to the emergence of many artists and works of art, of course, this original teaching formed the basis of everything I have produced for myself.”

Perspective on business life: Besides acting, he also has a musician identity. He even states that those who knew him from the screens were surprised to see him on stage. “It was something I wanted very much to go on stage and sing, but when I got on stage, it didn’t take me long to realize that it wasn’t as easy as it looked from the outside, and I could never have done it without my orchestra friends. Luckily we were already friends for a long time. Yaman (Hadi) gathered the whole team and created our repertoire and style. He brought together these precious musicians, who wanted to go on stage together for years, in the same orchestra, and I was lucky again. When La Boucherie and BKM Kitchen opened their stage to us, the nights we had a lot of fun came one after the other. I think I will continue to sing for a long time. We took the stage with a repertoire of arabesque and pop songs. Serhan Yasdıman and Funda Gürses also sing songs that I enjoy listening to and that you cannot hear very often on stage. Sometimes I forget I’m on stage while they’re singing. Those who see me on stage are frankly surprised and come back again. I think they’re having more fun than they expected. I am also happy when I see our guests smiling, acting and accompanying the songs. Theater is different from cinema and television in terms of feeling and feeling for me. Theater is a bit like acting a game. Really think of it like a stadium. The audience sits around the stage where we are acting. Being in front of the audience is a higher and more exciting situation both in terms of performance and emotion.”
Career plan: He pays attention to the whole of the project in the selection of the project. “The star for me is the project itself. If the project goes well, it will benefit everyone as a career.”
