A new series is coming from Başar Başaran, who has written the scripts of TV series such as Bodrum Masalı, Dip, Vurgun, Azize. The new series will be adapted from Peride Celal’s novel “Gecenin Ucunda”.
Başar Başaran and his partner Emre Özdur are currently writing the script of the TV series Kıbrıs Zafere Doğru. The production of the new series is undertaken by TMC Film, the producer of the Kıbrıs Zafere Doğru series.
Başar Başaran has also undertaken the scriptwriting of the series Bodrum Masalı, Reaksiyon, Yol Ayrımı, Dip, Muhteşem İkili, Vurgun and Azize. The team that wrote the script of the Kıbrıs Zafere Doğru series, which is still broadcast on TRT 1, is preparing to present a novel adaptation to the audience this time.
The new series will be adapted from Peride Celal’s novel, “Gecenin Ucunda”, by one of the former romance novelists. Celal has 17 works, including Atmaca, Aşkın Doğuşu, Kırkıncı Tepe and Dar Yol.
Gecenin Ucunda is a novel written by Peride Celal in 1963. When it was first published, it was called Gecenin Ucundaki Işık . Peride Celal revised the book in 1996 and shortened its name to “Gecenin Ucunda”. Peride Celal said while revising the novel in 1996 and bringing it back to light:
“I think I did well by shortening its name. At the time this novel was written, we were young, we had faith, we thought we could reach the light. Light; it meant freedom, civilization, humanity; was a hope. For over forty years we have searched for the light. And it faded away from us. Today, the high-class bourgeoisie, fake religious people, politicians who care about nothing but their own interests, prey more easily on the young people they have led into brilliant lives.
Will the protagonist of the novel, Macide, turn her back on love and be successful in her effort to create a new life for herself and her child and reach a humane world? I’m suspicious. At Gecenin Ucunda is also a great romance novel. I should add this too. I also like that it is. In my opinion, this novel is the best romance I’ve ever written.”
