ATV was expected to make a very successful debut on Monday evenings with the Hakim (Judge) series. Both the story of the series is very solid and a very suitable cast has been created for this story. It was also an important advantage that it was a drama production in which the messages and emotions from the series were conveyed very intensely.
However, Hakim did not get the expected ratings in the first two episodes of the series. Even if above-average rates are achieved, this is not enough for the ATV. It is not possible for the Hakim series to compete with Alparslan and Yasak Elma (Forbidden Apple) on Monday evenings as it is. Even the Üç Kuruş series, whose ratings have dropped and has 6 episodes left, seems to be in better shape.
The Hakim series was adapted from the US hit TV series Your Honor. Master figures such as Erdal Beşikçioğlu, Uğur Yücel, Ebru Özkan, Yurdaer Okur and Hasibe Eren play important characters in the story. The broadcaster channel has a weight in the series audience and the drama productions generally get successful results.
However, it is not very acceptable for the Hakim series to draw an image that cannot exceed the middle rows. However, at this point, it should be said that neither the story nor the acting performance nor the importance of the channel is that much.
First of all, it is imperative that channels and producers choose well when to broadcast a series and when not to broadcast it. In an environment where the weather is getting warmer and the month of Ramadan is coming, it is a bit of an erroneous approach to broadcast a TV series like Hakim.
If the series were broadcast in February, it would have made a good debut at a time when the audience was more on the screen, and could have performed very well until the end of the season with the wind it gained. For example, we saw this situation in the TV series Kardeşlerim (My Brothers).
Kardeşlerim is also an effective drama story and its first episode was screened on February 20, 2021. In other words, the series, which attracted attention at a time when many viewers were locked into television, when the winter conditions continued, took the wind behind it and repeats the same success in the second season.
It should be said that the Judge series had a timing error. The first episode of the series aired on April 4, it coincided with the beginning of a period when the weather started to warm up, the month of Ramadan came, and the loss of viewers, which was reflected in all series, was clearly reflected in the ratings. With the month of Ramadan, the viewing rate of the Hakim series was lower than expected.
Many TV series that the channels bring to the screen from April to October may not find their value because it is a period when the audience showing interest in television begins to decline. And Hakim experienced this misfortune.
ATV can insist on this series and Hakim can stand out too much in the winter season that will start with September. However, in the current situation, it should not be expected that the series will exceed the middle ranks and compete with Yasak Elma or Alparslan.
