Cengiz Coşkun, the Turgut Alp of Diriliş Ertuğrul, is the leading role in another herokil story!

The TRT co-production “Malazgirt 1071”, which brought the 1071 Battle of Manzikert, which made Anatolian lands home to the Turks, to the big screen, was released today.

The Battle of Manzikert in 1071, which made Anatolia a homeland for the Turks, was brought to the screen for the first time in history. The film, directed by Bilal Kalyoncu and Özgür Bakar, stars master actors such as Cengiz Coşkun, Vildan Atasever, Haluk Piyes and Caner Kurtaran.

Sultan Alparslan, the ruler of the Great Seljuk State, and the Byzantine Emperor IV. The shooting of the film, which deals with the 1071 Battle of Manzikert, which took place between Roman Diogenes and ended with the victory of Sultan Alparslan, took seven weeks.

Cengiz Coşkun, the leading actor of the movie, was thrilled with the silver screen. The actor shared many posts about his new movie on his Instagram account.

In the film, where real historical places were used in the shootings in Konya and Istanbul, inns from the Seljuk period, covered bazaars, complexes and churches from the Roman period were used especially in Konya. The 1700-year-old Aya Elenia church in Sille was also among the venues that hosted the film.

Haluk Piyes gives life to Afşin Bey, the leading commander of Alparslan in Anatolian expeditions, in the movie in which Cengiz Coşkun, known as Turgut Alp, from TRT 1’s TV series Diriliş Ertuğrul, which made a hit in Turkey and the world, plays Sultan Alparslan.

While master actor Caner Kurtaran plays the character of Romanian Diogenes, Vildan Atasever gives life to Queen Ludika, who is ambitious without rules. The historical film, produced by 2056 Cinema, aims to change the conventional perception of war films in Turkey.

The plot of the movie is as follows; Sultan Alparslan, who dreams of uniting the Muslim communities under the Seljuk flag, continues the expeditions to Anatolia, which started during the reign of his uncle Tugrul Bey. The internal turmoil in Byzantium also paved the way for the Turks to move quickly in Anatolia. Romanian Diogenes, who wanted to put a stop to this situation, first tried to seize the administration with a coup attempt, but was unsuccessful and became a death sentence. Diogenes, who came to the throne with a midnight operation by Queen Ludika, has the goal of expelling the Turks from Anatolia. The two armies will come face to face on the plain of Manzikert and the adventure of the Turks in these lands that will last for a thousand years will begin.
