Ebru Şahin, who received great acclaim with her character “Akkız” in Destan series, made very special statements in an interview with İlker Gezici from Sabah Newspaper.
The famous actress, who says that she worked with professional trainers for about six hours every day during the preparation for the series, took sword, close combat, horse riding and archery training, and gives a successful performance despite those who think that the action is a man’s job.
“It was my dream to show that women can also exist in the action world with a strong stance,” said the actress; “I said early in my career that I wanted to play a warrior woman, and I made my dream come true. That’s why ‘Akkız’ will always be a very special character in my career.”
Drawing attention with her success in lively and action-packed scenes, Şahin said that while playing the role of “Akkız”, she had the advantage of being a sports academy graduate and her interest in history.

From the very beginning of our journey, the interest was overwhelming. I send my love to all of them, I am glad they exist… It makes me happy to see that a project I am involved in has such a great and beautiful response to the audience. I have a huge family that does not leave me alone in my projects.”
Saying that I think it would be a much more challenging process for someone who does not have a sports background or this motivation, the actress stated that she saw the benefit of my sports background in this sense, and said, “I had the advantage of my interest in both sports and history during the preparation process.
