World-famous star Ghassan Massoud, who plays the character of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari in TRT’s new series Mehmed Fetihler Sultanı (Mehmed: Sultan of Conquests), sent a video message to his fans on the broadcast day of the series. In his message, Massoud congratulated TRT for this big and important project and considered taking part in the series as a great opportunity.
While the countdown continues for TRT 1’s eagerly awaited new series “Mehmed Fetihler Sultanı”, Ghassan Massoud, one of the important names of the project, shared his excitement of giving life to the character of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari with a video message.
In his message, Ghassan Massoud, who played important roles in world-renowned major production movies such as Kingdom of Heaven and Pirates of the Caribbean, congratulated TRT for signing the TV series “Mehmed Fetihler Sultanı” and gave warm messages to his fans.

I must say, it was truly a wonderful and special thing to portray the character of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, the great companion who carried the good news of the conquest of Constantinople by our Prophet (SAW).
In my artistic life, there are many Islamic characters that I have portrayed on television or in cinema, perhaps the most prominent of these are the character of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the first Rashidun caliph, and the character of Saladin Al-Ayyubi, whom I have portrayed in Hollywood, which had a great impact on Western society and the world in general.
Now I am honored to portray the character of Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari and I hope with all my heart that it will have the desired effect and goodness.

Who is Ghassan Massoud?
Syrian actor Ghassan Massoud’s role as the commander of the Muslim armies, Saladin Ayyubi, in the 2005 movie Kingdom of Heaven was one of the milestones in his acting career.
