In 2018, the park named after cameraman Alper Baycın, who lost his life as a result of the knife attack of two people who wanted to steal his bag in the Dominican Republic during the filming of the game show Survivor, was opened with a ceremony.
At the opening ceremony of the park in Antalya’s Muratpaşa district, Güzeloba Mahallesi, TV8’s boss Acun Ilıcalı did not leave Alper Baycın’s family alone. In addition to Ilıcalı, Mayor Ümit Uysal, Masterchef Turkey jury members Somer Sivrioğlu, Danilo Zanna and Mehmet Yalçınkaya also attended the ceremony.
Acun Ilıcalı, who shared the images from the ceremony on his instagram account, said; “Today is a day when we should be very happy, but the damage in our hearts is so great that we cannot experience that happiness, of course,” he said.
Continuing his words by saying, “My beautiful brother,” Ilıcalı said: “The absence of some people can never be filled. Alper was one of those people. After getting to know his mother and father, Ahmet brother and Aynur Hanım, we also see why Alper is an exemplary person. Together, we did it by being here. The parents of this beautiful brother were once again proud of him.
I see this as the difference of our nation. I think this spirituality has no equivalent in the world. Our dear mayor is here, it is very important. Such a beautiful park in the most beautiful part of the city. A heartfelt thanks to Muratpaşa Municipality. This will be a place where our hearts meet.”
