Menekşe and Halil are Turkish television series produced by Ay Yapım, directed by Uluç Bayraktar and written by Elif Şafak, Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu. The repeat episodes of the series, which ended in 2008, were broadcast in Euro D every weekday in 2010.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
Menekşe and Halil are about the struggle of two young people who are in love with each other, despite their families and other external factors. The series, published between 2006-2008, broke rating records and succeeded in putting its name among the unforgettable series. again the markets have also watched with interest by many countries abroad outside Menekşe and Halil.
STORY:
Menekşe is the daughter of an expatriate family living in Germany. She and Halil work with in the same patisserie love each other. Fearing her family, Menekşe lives her innocent love in secret.
Halil has nobody in Germany other than Menekşe. He has a heavy burden on his shoulders, and secrets that he keeps in order not to scare and lose Menekşe. Menekşe’s younger brother would aspire to Kadir’s soldier friend Menekşe. Unable to resist the pressure of her family, Menekşe agrees to marry in order not to endanger Halil’s life. The wedding day will turn into a nightmare for both Halil and Menekşe.
Thereupon, Menekşe and Halil flee to Istanbul. Menekşe’s husband, Mustafa, and Menekşe’s brother, Kadir Menekşe, come to Istanbul to find Halil. Later, Menekşe’s mother, father and grandmother come to Istanbul and rent a house. Time passes and Menekşe’s family agrees to marry Menekşe and Halil. Mustafa, on the other hand, tries every way to get revenge.
