The play Taxim, written by Spanish Jorge Guerricaechevarría, adapted from the 2017 movie “El Bar” by Baba Sahne, and directed by Emrah Eren, started to be staged as of February 2. Taxim’s actors include Ömür Arpacı, Mert Asutay, Nergis Çorakçı, Seçkin Özdemir, Rüya Demirbulut, Şevket Çoruh and Ozan Güven.
The theme of the play, which tells the different lives that cross paths in “Taxim Bistro”, is as follows; 10 different people, 10 different fates. What would happen if the paths of these people, who were able to come together but impossible to live together, were put to the test at the crossroads of “survival” that suddenly appeared? “Taxim” is the play of Purgatory, where the oppressive order of the system intersects with personal selfishness and priorities. A story that tides from the heights of black comedy to the brink of death. Does everyone deserve to live? Can the right to life be divided? That’s the whole problem!
The play Taxim plays on Baba Sahne, which received great applause from the audience, such as Bir Baba Hamlet, I Am Don Quixote, and Love Dies.
