“My mother married an Iranian gentleman when she was 20 years old, and so she went to Iran during the Sharia period. They recruited her husband into the military, so my mother wanted to come back to Turkey, but she was imprisoned there for 3 years because her husband destroyed my mother’s passport. The book tells about the struggle to escape from there.
She struggled in a place where women were despised and somehow escaped. The title of the book is “Iran Behind This Mountain”. I would love to script it beautifully and play my mother.”
