Selin Yeninci, the lead actress of the series Annenin Sırrıdır Çocuk (Mother’s Secret Child) won two awards in a week before her journey to the Cannes Film Festival. The actress, who won the ‘Best Breakthrough Actress of the Year’ award at the ‘Face to Face’ awards held at Kocaeli University on Monday, received her second award at the ‘Turkey Youth Awards’ held at the Cevahir Hotel on Wednesday evening.
Due to her success in the 2019-2020 season, she received the most votes from the young people and became the winner of the ‘Best Supporting Female Series Actor of the Year 2020’ award.
The beautiful actress Selin Yeninci, who will go to Cannes with the team for the film Kurak Günler (Dry Days) to be screened in the “Un Certain Regard” section of the Cannes Film Festival at the weekend, expressed her excitement for Cannes and her happiness about the awards she won this week, as follows:
“This week is very special for me. I can say that it was a period when my dreams came true and I felt that my efforts started to pay off. It is a pleasure to be appreciated with the awards given by two very important institutions. I cannot explain my excitement for Cannes. As an actress, it means a lot to me to be in Cannes with the movie I acted in.”
Emin Alper’s latest feature film starring Selin Yeninci is the only Turkish film to be included in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival this year.
