There has been a big change in the Kızılcık Şerbeti (Cranberry Sherbet) series since the first day it started on the Show TV screen. At first, there was a scenario based on the fact that two different families, conservative and secular, had the same values but led a different life.
In this scenario, the atmosphere was reflected that the social fault lines are not that deep, and that the values are the same even though their lifestyles seem dissimilar.
In this way, the message was given that although there were differences in the lifestyle in the society, there were the same structures in terms of values. Common points between conservative and secular families were mentioned. Of course, this situation did not make the show a big jump in the ratings.
Then, the screenwriters began to reveal the reflections of bilateral relations that also exist in society. Nursema and Umut characters came to the fore as a result of this changing scenario mathematics.
In fact, everything was normal until here. However, when the screenwriters focused on the headscarf-wearing Nursema character, this point began to attract the reaction of the conservative community, and then this situation caught the attention of the Radio and Television Supreme Council.
Events such as the marriage of Nursema to İbrahim at the request of her family and then being pushed out of the window, and the later learning of the great drama she experienced, came one after another. This situation met with great interest of the audience and the ratings exploded in an instant.
Kızılcık Şerbeti, which became the most watched TV series, revealed how deep the problems in conservative families are with such scenes.
However, the real big bomb was the fact that Abdullah, the head of the conservative family, fell in love with Alev, a young and beautiful woman.
In fact, this is a situation with plenty of examples in the society, but showing it this way in front of millions on television can also be shown as a cause of discomfort.
As a result, the Radio and Television Supreme Council imposed penalties on the grounds of encouraging violence against women in the series. Both a 1.5 million TL fine and a decision was made to stop the broadcast of the series for 5 weeks.
It is not known how Show TV’s objection will turn out, but the audience felt that there might be an effort to prevent the Kızılcık Şerbeti series from being screened until the election was over.
