Kanal D’s most watched series Dönence, produced by D Media and directed by Serdar Gözelekli, will be on the screen with its new episode every Wednesday, starting from Wednesday, September 13.
In the series, the scenes where Gülce, an autistic individual, starts high school with the decision of social services, were shot in a very special school.
Namık Kemal High School, one of the oldest and most established institutions in Izmir, hosted the series for these scenes. What made this high school different from others was that it was once visited by Ataturk.
The great leader Atatürk visited this school between 1925 and 1926 and wrote in the diary of the school, which was called Izmir Girls’ High School in those years: “I was very pleased with my visit to Izmir Girls’ High School. “The serious and accurate work of the principal and the teachers is seen with extreme ease and appreciation.” he wrote.
