Similarly, the series project titled Sakla Beni, broadcast on Star TV, received great criticism on social media due to a scene that would harm the moral development of children and young people. This scene was also caught on RTÜK’s radar.
Various penalties were given to both series by RTÜK, and this revealed a strange situation in the TV series market.
Although both series achieved low ratings in their first episode, there were significant ratings increases in the episodes following the reactionary scenes.
Both series are broadcast on Thursday evenings, and more viewers started to follow both of them after intense criticism.
This coincidence, which is clearly visible in the ratings, actually seems to have created a great promotional opportunity by gaining wide interaction through contradictory scenes on social media.
