Adapted from Dr. Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu’s novel and quoted from her real life story, the Masumlar Apartmanı series is one of TRT1’s honor projects. It made a big splash when it started coming to the screens last season. The series, which dragged the audience from emotion to emotion until the end of the season, started to reflect on social media at the beginning of this season, saying that the audience was bored.
In the beginning, the life stories of the characters were very attractive and surprised everyone. Ezgi Mola, Merve Dizdar and Birkan Sokullu starring in the series, especially Farah Zeynep Abdullah’s departure, both surprised and caused the audience to react.
After the character İnci left the series, the story shifted to a completely different place. In fact, the screenwriters of the series, Rana Mamatlıoğlu and Deniz Madanoğlu, had drawn attention in their interviews, saying that with İnci’s entry into the family, the characters will gradually begin to dissolve, they will open up, and they will recover.
But with Farah Zeynep Abdullah’s sudden decision to leave the series, the story came to a very different place in the new season! This time Rüya appeared. However, Rüya is not a personality that can pull neither Han nor the others out of the shell they entered, and even as a character with her own deep problems, she could not quite fill İnci’s place.
Finally, Aslıhan Güner joined the series with the character of Ceylan. Ceylan’s name was always mentioned in the series. Ceylan, who suddenly re-entered their lives as Han’s ex-lover, was initially introduced in such a way that the perception was created as a faulty character.
However, in the following episodes, either the audience doesn’t understand and dislike Ceylan’s character at first, or the screenwriters have a small reverse corner, that Ceylan is a perfectly normal character, even accepts Han and her family, understands them deeply, enters into the family and tries to love them all in a way, just like İnci, who appeared to have succeeded.
With this development, Han’s coming out of his shell, the fact that Gülben went beyond herself and kissed her father’s hand in this week’s episode, got married, did not avoid being in the same environment with people, and got married with a normal wedding are also indicators of her recovery. Although, at the end of the episode, the fact that she could not stay in the same house with Esat at night and returned to her family’s home shows that her condition has not yet fully recovered, but she still took a big step.
The steps taken for Safiye were much bigger. She came out of her house without any objection to the crowded wedding. Moreover, wearing her own clothes, not her mother’s. At the end of the wedding, she accepted Naci’s marriage proposal. They even danced, taking off their gloves and holding his hand.
The atmosphere of gloom began to rise with the characters who gradually broke their shells, along with the funny styles and attitudes placed in the story of the series. Those moments when four siblings hugged each other with their fathers was a development that excited and touched everyone.
The audience is very satisfied with this trend. The situation seems to be reflected in the ratings as well. Masumlar Apartmanı started to gather the tired, fed up and angry audience again and the developments are welcomed. Thus, the words of the scriptwriters that the family will gradually recover find their place.
