Analysis – The magnificent success of Star TV’s The Yalı Çapkını (Golden Boy) series, which marked the 2022-2023 season, is overshadowed by the step-by-step decrease in ratings. The most important reason for this situation was that the scenario group, which did not care much about the reactions of the audience, started to distance the story from reality.
Although the character of Pelin, played by Buçe Buse Kahraman, was brought to the fore and the audience objected to this, many people reacted to the series as a result of the screenwriters not taking a step back. With the strengthening of social media in recent years, the audience has a desire to contribute to the writing process of the story. Many screenwriters do not want to see this situation.
It was a great success for the Yalı Çapkını series to reach the ratings of 15 and become the number one production. However, the real big success is the power to maintain this first place.
