This period marks a very intense period for Uraz Kaygılaroğlu, who has to appear on the theater stage as well as the television series with the play Shakespeare in Love, which tells the story of two lovers.
It is the first movie in Turkey with the same name from the legendary film with the same name, which was staged with the partnership of Çolpan İlhan & Sadri Alışık Theatre, Piu Entertainment and Zorlu PSM and with the support of Damat & Tween, in which Uraz Kaygılaroğlu played William Shakespeare and Nezaket Erden played the character of Viola. Adapted for the stage for the first time, Shakespeare in Love has continued to be performed to a sold-out crowd since the first day it was staged.
In Shakespeare in Love, where William Shakespeare was played by Uraz Kaygılaroğlu and the character of Viola was played by Nezaket Erden, the harmony of the two actors was reflected in the photo shoot.
Kaygılaroğlu describes his co-star as follows: “When my partner became Nezat, I said, ‘You are in a safe place. If you’re going to try, start here.’ She is a very humble and extraordinary actor. In addition to her talent, she is also very special in her human aspect. That’s why it was so good for me.”
Nezaket Erden said the following about her co-star: “We really loved playing together. It was Uraz’s first experience on stage, but it didn’t feel like that at all. I can’t imagine anyone else playing this role right now. “It’s a great feeling to be on stage with an actor who is very comfortable, open to everything at any time, and listening to me at that moment.”
Directed by Serdar Biliş, choreography by Beyhan Murphy, music by Tuluğ Tırpan, decor and lighting design by Cem Yılmazer, and costume design by Gamze Kuş, the cast of Aşık Shakespeare also includes Şebnem Sönmez, Merve Polat, Kerem Arslanoğlu, Successful actors such as Ceren Taşçı and Ekrem Can Arslandağ also appear.
The songs composed to reflect the unique atmosphere of the play are performed live on stage by musician Gülin Kılıçay and the special music group that came together for the play.
Shakespeare in Love meets its audience at Zorlu PSM on 28-29 November and 23-24 December.
