Actress Esra Bilgiç, who was born in Ankara in 1992, first played in the TV series Diriliş Ertuğrul, which started to appear on the screen in the 2014 season. The actress, who played the role of Halime Hatun in the series until 2018, attracted the attention of the producers and received new offers.
The actress, who took the lead role in Kanal D’s TV series Bir Umut Yeter, went to England with the early finale of the series and continued to study acting.
She started to appear on the screen with the character of Sibel in the Ramo series in Turkey, where she returned. She received great acclaim for her role in the series in which she played the lead role with Murat Yıldırım. After this series, Bilgiç played in Fox TV’s period series called Kanunsuz Topraklar (Unlawful Lands).
She was in the lead role with Uğur Güneş in the series, which started to be broadcast at the beginning of this season, and gave life to the daughter of a rich miner named Gülfem.
Long preparations were made for the story in Zonguldak. Since it is a period series, a special preparation process was passed with its costumes, accessories and venues as well as its story. But the expected did not happen and the series made the final with its 16th episode.
After the series said goodbye to the screen in February, Esra Bilgiç’s name began to be mentioned with Çağatay Ulusoy and the Terzi (Tailor) series. Bilgiç stated that he did not accept the offer from the series produced for Netflix and signed by OGM Pictures.
At the same time, Esra Bilgiç, who continues to the Kanunsuz Topraklar, focused on her school while she was away from the screen. In an interview with Magnet Quarterly magazine recently, the actress also mentioned the difficulty of studying law, stating that it was impossible for her to pass the exams while she was working on the set, and that she had put her studies on track for a few months.
Stating that despite everything, she spends most of her time studying and learning gives great pleasure, Esra Bilgiç added that she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
In the meantime, on a question about the effects of social media use on career, the actress emphasized that there are positive or negative effects, and said, “I don’t know whether to use social media correctly, to be active or to enter regular content every day. I think the truth of this may differ for everyone. There are successful people who use social media very professionally and change their careers in a positive way. Social media is a powerful tool for me to communicate directly with the people who follow me. That’s why I’m trying to show the necessary care,” she said.
When asked for her advice to actress candidates, Bilgiç especially emphasized the importance of friends who criticize sincerely.
“First of all, I would like to state that while embracing all the positive gains that acting brings, they will have to accept the negative sides as well,” said the actress adding that everything positive also means negativity.
Esra Bilgiç also gave the following advice to young actresses: “Make friends who will criticize you with all sincerity, without fear or hurt. And observe tirelessly.”
