The story of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with his youth love Dimitrina will turn into a movie. The cast of the movie, which is expected to be released this year, has not been formed yet. But everyone who heard the news thought of only one name.
The project, which is the project of Fikri Harika Production, who made the most recent Dilberay film, will focus on Atatürk’s love story with Bulgarian Dimitrina, whom he met when he was appointed to the Sofia Military Attaché when he was in his early 30s.
Dimitrina and Atatürk, the daughter of General Stilyan Kovachev, fall in love with each other after meeting. Atatürk, without wasting time, proposes to Dimitrina. Dimitrina welcomes the offer with great pleasure. However, Dimitrina and Mustafa Kemal can never come together. Years later, Atatürk said of this love, “I loved a girl, when I was an attaché, they did not give it to me. I left my youth in Sofia”.
The cast of the movie, which is expected to be released in October 2022, has not yet been determined. However, only one name came to mind to portray Atatürk: Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ. Those who heard the news of the movie said that Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ would best suit this role in their comments on social media. It is not known whether he made an offer to the handsome actor.
Making a statement about their new project, Özgür Tari, the founder of Fikri Zengin Productions, said that they took a great responsibility and said, “We aim to make permanent works in the cinema sector. We have started working to achieve this goal and to bring the audience together with the Atatürk movie they have always wanted to see. We will produce a film befitting our ancestors.”
A project about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk will also be shot for Disney Plus. Aras Bulut Iynemli will portray Atatürk in the series to be shot by Lanistar Media. The series is expected to be broadcast in 2023, the 100th anniversary of the founding of our Republic.
