Pets: He has a dog.

Family: He was born and raised in İzmir. His mother is a fashion designer. “My family ties are strong. Thank God I have a happy family based on love and respect. Frankly, at first, the dream of acting seemed a little distant to them. Because there was no such example in our family or around us. But over time, they understood my passion and dreams and supported me with all their might.”

Childhood years: He lived in Izmir until university. Theater has always been in his life in some way since he was a little kid. He also took part in end-of-the-year plays and musicals at school. “I decided to study professionally at university. At first, I saw acting as a personal development and I liked it. But it gradually turned into a passion that I could not give up.”

Education life: Graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Business Administration. He spent half of his university years in Istanbul and the other half in the USA to study at New York State University, as a requirement of the “ITU SUNY Double Degree Program in Business Administration”. He received a scholarship from Us Players at the university. Then Şahika went to Tekand. He took lessons from acting coach and communication expert Anthony Vincent Bova in the USA. When he returned to Turkey, he received training at the Craft Acting Workshop for 2 years.

A turning point in his life: A recommendation from Gülse Birsel changed the course of his life. “I studied Business Administration at ITU. I continued the last two years of my education in New York as a requirement of the program I entered. If I hadn’t done this job, I would have taken care of the management and designs of the textile company my family owned, or I would have done the jewelry design job that I had studied in New York. But there was always art in my life. I met a Turkish person who is one of the pioneers of the jewelry manufacturing industry in New York. He is also engaged in the diamond business. I would either start with him or continue acting. That’s the timing of life… That week, Gülse Birsel came to the school where I was educated. Gülse Birsel said, “This is not the case here, Kenan. It would be better for you to regret it with our own directors in Turkey,” she said. This was actually a turning point for me. “

Turning point of his career: He sees the TV series “Meryem” as the turning point of his career. “In America, I had an acting coach whom I loved very much, named Anthony Bova. For about two years, I both studied and worked as an assistant. During my education, I had a small role in a TV series called “The Following” and that’s how my career started. At that time, Gülse Birsel came to NY to attend a workshop organized by my acting coach Anthony. So we had the opportunity to meet. Upon Gülse’s suggestion, I decided to return to Turkey. A few months after my return, I received an offer for the Medcezir series and my career in Turkey began. The series ‘Meryem’ was definitely a turning point for me. The role of ‘Güçlü’ suited me very well. I felt very close to Güçlü. He left me a broken man. When he lost his strong mother, I really felt pain as if I had lost my mother. Then I can say that his continued life has made me stronger. Kadir’s role in ‘Elimi Bırakma’ taught him how to live both worlds together with his life as a lawyer and a repair shop.”

The first step into acting: He started his television adventure with the character of “Murat”, which he portrayed in the TV series “Medcezir” in 2014.

Which project did it shine with? He attracted attention with the character of “Ali Ekber” in the TV series “Cesur Yürek”.

Source of happiness: The greatest source of happiness is that he loves his job very much. “Being famous and known on the street is part of this profession, but I don’t think I’m a tabloid figure. I love it when they get to know me somewhere and come to me and chat with me about the story. I am happy to be able to give that feeling and enter their house when the aunts are upset about how they beat you, my son. I don’t really like to talk about my private life. I prefer to talk about my profession and be known for it.”

First feature film: Çağan Irmak / Benim Adım Feridun

His outlook on life: He likes to live life to the fullest. He says he has simple but refined tastes. “I can say that the things that will make me happiest in life are living my potential and fulfilling my dreams. Health, my family, my friends, art, the sea, sunrise-sunset, some sports and good food, what else? My sources of inspiration and motivation in life change from time to time. Sometimes a movie I watch, sometimes a song, sometimes a word from a friend, sometimes someone’s life story can be my source of inspiration or motivation for that period.”

His perspective on business life: “He thinks that the set environment in Turkey and the set environment in America are incomparably different. “They are very professional there. Here he walks in a collaborative fashion, everyone puts their heart into it. This is beautiful too. But there it is clear what everyone is going to do and everyone is just doing their own thing. There’s still time to get in that order here. It is the same in terms of the rights of the set workers. I guess it was 14 hours, when the 14 hours are over, they have to stop, otherwise the production team pays a penalty. Unionization does not work in Turkey. I liked it the most in the sets there, they pay everyone extra for every hour you stay. When the set gets longer, you don’t have to worry about it. Of course, every extra you get is important, especially for a young person trying to hold on there.”

Career plan: “Considering that everything in acting started with a dream, I can say that I have come a long way so far. But I still have a long way to go. I will keep my dreams to myself on this matter so that it does not escape the surprise.”

Dreaming of the Future: Since his childhood, his passion was always cinema. He studied theater and started to have a passion for theatre. He crossed paths with TV series, he thinks TV series are a very good training ground for him. “I still dream of cinema. It’s not just acting; I also dream of entering your kitchen, writing and directing. For now, I can say that I have laid a good foundation for my dreams. We will see together how far I can achieve my dreams in the future.”

Who he admires: He would like to act with all of the masters. “Şener Şen, Tuncel Kurtiz, Kemal Sunal, Haluk Bilginer are the leading ones for me. I would love to act with Haluk Bilginer in ‘Eşkıya’. As a foreigner, I would like to act in ‘Good Fellas’ with Robert de Niro.”

Role models: Joaquin Phoenix, Daniel Day Lewis, Denzel Washington, Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy are role models.

Does he follow fashion? He likes to wear comfortable yet stylish things. “My choice of clothes, of course, depends on where I’m going. I think the options for men’s clothing are very limited. I don’t know, maybe there is, but it doesn’t appeal to me. That’s why I finally decided to start my own brand and that’s how ‘Masiva’ came to life! My mother is a fashion designer and they ran our own brand on evening dresses with my father for many years. They did good work at home and abroad; Therefore, I can say that most of my childhood was spent in a fashion house. But in those years, I preferred to go on the path of acting. My quest while choosing my own clothes encouraged me to create my own brand. I feed on the countries I visit, the festivals, the things that affect me and transfer them to daily wear.”

How he maintains his form: He does sports, and he can’t give up on yoga. “I am an energetic person. From time to time, I am more interested in certain things. You do sports, but yoga is something like taking care of your body, it is always permanent. Even though I do different things from time to time, yoga remains constant, I add something to it when I have time.”
