Family: She was born in Aydın, grew up, killed her father years ago. She married Yetkin Dikinciler, who is an actress like her, on August 16, 2014. The couple has a daughter. “My family has been very supportive of me being an actress. While they were already in Izmir, they knew that this road would lead to Istanbul. In fact, it’s not like we’ve ever lived apart. My mother is always with me. That’s why I’ve never been alone here. My friends at the conservatory had already moved to Istanbul a year before me. They preferred Erenköy and Bostancı side as it was a bit like İzmir, so I settled next to them. Only Istanbul wants to get rid of everyone who comes later. Regardless of your social status, family, identity, ethnicity, Istanbul feels the aftermath and tries to send it, as it is a city with a soul.”
Education life: Graduated from Ege University State Turkish Music Conservatory Turkish Folk Dance Department. She was a professional dancer in the group ‘Magic you ney lames of passion’. She took camera acting and dialogue lessons from Ayla Algan at the Cinema and TV Acting Department of Ekol Drama School.
A turning point in her career: She also studied ballet, modern dance, music and acting as well as folk dance. The expression gymnastics class she took in her 3rd year at university was influential in her decision to become an actress. “It was a class that aimed to express emotions with body language without speaking, I was impressed by the idea of being able to impersonate different people in the exercises I did, these lessons were a big factor in my decision to become an actress. First, I enrolled in Ayla Algan’s school. After a while, when the teachers thought it was enough, they sent it to the test shots of some TV series. From there, I contacted the casting agencies, that’s how I started. So I always progressed step by step.”
The first step into acting: She started her television adventure in 2002 with the character of “Şükran”, which she portrayed in the TV series “Sır Kapısı”.
What project did she shine with? She attracted attention with the character of “Deniz” she acted in the TV series “Medcezir”.
Personality traits: She has a structure that takes care of her loved ones. Excited, positive. “I can never bear my loved ones to be unhappy, I am someone who appreciates what I have and is often grateful. The way to be happy is to be without expectations. Peace is also a place where people can take shelter; Your mother’s knee, sometimes your lover’s bosom, your dog’s scent, sometimes the sunset, and sometimes a warm tea you drink on the set.”
Mindset: She thinks that the magazine is everywhere in life. “I think the magazine is everywhere in our lives. Our neighbor, our grocery store, our greengrocer, our friend. The feeling of wonder is an unstoppable feeling. If you ask my expectation, all these are within the framework of mutual respect and level…
Her view of love: “I see Yetkin as my luck rather than fate. We met her in the TV series “Aile Saadeti”. It wasn’t someone I had talked to before. After getting to know her, I met her depth. Our drama was canceled in five episodes, but our friendship continued. She is an inspirational person with her experience and view on life, but we only remember that we were married when they asked us questions, nothing changed in our lives. When I get a new script, my biggest excitement is to have Yetkin read it as soon as possible, I get her opinion, we talk about it.”
Her outlook on life: She thinks that acting is not a profession that can be started with enthusiasm. “Acting is not something that can be achieved by being enthusiastic about. It’s about your lifestyle, what’s inside you, your family, everything you’ve been through. Now you will say; A 6-year-old can also create a good performance. I think it’s about how many souls it contains. When you talk to that 6-year-old, you say, ‘You can’t be 6 years old’. Her soul isn’t actually 6 anyway. Otherwise, she can’t.”
Her perspective on business life: She thinks that it is a great chance for her career to act in TV series set in different periods. “I am someone who considers the role as the role. I don’t discriminate between good women and bad women. What matters is the excitement it gives me when I read it. But every actor wants to be able to experience different roles. He wants to seek in her soul, to find, to be surprised at what he finds. The creative process of trying to be someone else is a painful but enjoyable process. I think that actors should not be classified with certain patterns, they should be given a chance instead of acting as a guarantee. I think we should give up the distinction between bad women and good women. At the beginning of my career, I was very interested in how I looked. I kept saying, ‘My hair wasn’t beautiful over there, they didn’t do my makeup well’. Now my perception has changed. I don’t care about how I look, I look to see if I can convey the emotion. I am generally an excited person, but I manage not to succumb to my excitement in my profession. There is always a bird in my heart. It speeds up my blood circulation, but that bird looks positive to me. Actually, I’m losing the type. I have the blonde and bad woman type. I seem very unattractive at first, but later they admit it. That’s why they are very surprised after getting to know me. I think the most difficult part of our profession is that it requires timelessness and constant patience. An impatient person cannot be an actress. While waiting for your scene on set, you have to patiently wait for the role you want to act. This state of being silent can be difficult sometimes.”
Career plan: Biggest dream of acting; to be the first to come to mind. “I would like to be known as a good actress. I am after believing in my career plan and continuing to want and learn at the same time.”
Concerns: She finds the short screen life of some of the successful works to be worrying for the sector. “Many successful businesses unfortunately leave the screens without being able to explain their problems. This is the most unpleasant situation in this industry, frankly. I love good scripts, works that have issues, they should have a problem, a narrative. I believe such things are noticed. The story is the only key, it opens the heart of the viewer.”
