Family: She was born and raised in Tokat. The youngest of a family of four. Her family has always supported her to become an actress. “When my family found out that I wanted to be an actress, they were actually very supportive. In high school, my teachers used to say, ‘Send this girl to the conservatory’. But in my family, there was more of an idea of ’Let acting be a hobby, you should have a profession, a gold bracelet’. My family has always been more precious to me than anything else. However, as the age progresses, one feels much better how important and irreplaceable value the family is. It would not be an exaggeration to say that their health, peace and well-being is the most important goal of my life.”
Childhood years: Being an actress was something she wanted from childhood. “Acting has always been on my mind since I was little. I think about the games we played as kids. We used to spend a lot of time with my friends because we lived in a small city. We were very free as children. We used to make and play very nice games. When I look at it now, I am surprised, I was making everyone improvise. I was giving and directing roles such as ‘You be this, I will be that’. I was always the girl who jumped forward the most in the shows in school. I was born in Tokat. I grew up there. As a matter of fact, the environment and conditions I lived in at that time did not offer a very encouraging environment to aim to be a theater actress. Those who lived in small cities of Anatolia in those years will understand what I mean. Despite this, I always carried a love and desire for this profession in me. I never took a pose in front of the mirror, but I always felt that light and energy in myself. In the city where I live, we didn’t even have a cinema for a long time. There were no people around us that we could emulate and take as an example. After all these years, I truly believe that acting is a birth feeling. Similar stories of other colleagues also support my belief. I’ve always been the most eager person for performances at school. In high school, I did a stand-up show that I wrote myself. My interest has always been in this direction. We used to write and play our own games with my friends and cousins in our childhood. We used to do it for fun and we had a lot of fun. Looking back today, I’m amazed at how creative and talented we were.”

A turning point in her life: A play by ‘Genco Erkal’ that she watched as a child changed the course of her life. “There were seldom plays from Istanbul and Ankara in Tokat. I would go without a second thought. I watched Genco Erkal when I was 15-16, in the play ‘Yalınayak Sokrates’. That day I said that acting is not my dream, it will be my reality. I’m not going back this way, I’ll do whatever it takes. That’s how it started. Like the parents of almost every child who wants to choose acting as a profession, my family found it logical that I should first take up another profession. I entered the Department of Radio, Cinema and Television at Yeditepe University. School wasn’t going well because I didn’t leave the door of the Theater Club. I felt that I could no longer be indifferent to my enthusiasm. In the same year, I took the exam of Müjdat Gezen Art Center and won with a scholarship. It was the biggest breaking point in my life. I played in plays at the Müjdat Gezen Theater during and after my education. I have acted in movies and TV series. My first television experience was with the TV series Eşref Saati.”
The first step into acting: She started her television adventure in 2007 with the character of “Lütfiye”, which he portrayed in the TV series “Eşref Saati”.
Which project did she shine with? She attracted attention with the character of “Gönül Güçlü”, which she portrayed in the TV series “Sadakatsiz”.

Perspective on life: She has obsessions, she cannot always look at life positively. “There are subjects that I am as obsessed with as anyone else. I can say that I am obsessed with my own order, living habits and privacy. I don’t always approach life positively. I find this a bit boring anyway. Life is a journey with ups and downs, rainy and sunny days. I don’t think it would be sincere to approach every moment of this with the same feeling. I can say that I hold on tighter to the times when I can be positive and happy.”
Perspective on business life: Shee sees the colorful society in which we live as an advantage in terms of her profession. “We live in a society where people from very different geographies and with different dynamics come together. This, of course, means a lot of colors and materials for our profession. I think our society is a bit impetuous like me. Our emotions are very prominent, our reactions can be very sudden. When everyone does their job well, it is inevitable that an impressive and audience-friendly work will emerge. Successful script, good director, competent actors and a very good production. When all these come together, success is inevitable. ‘Sadakatsiz’ is also watched because the whole team is so good. Playing good or bad, neither is easy. Playing evil can seem easy and fun as it offers more materials and colors. However, if you can’t keep the dose, this time it starts to sound cartoony and repulsive. While playing well, the balance of capturing naturalness can be difficult. If the balance is lost, it risks becoming mundane and boring. I always try to pay attention to this issue of dose and balance. Mustafa Alabora has a piece of advice that has always stuck in my ear: There is a big difference between playing naturally and playing casually.”
Career plan: In my career, I have two main goals; to progress by constantly adding something to her acting and to be remembered for what she wrote and what she will write. “For example, I would love to act in a movie that I wrote myself one day. No matter what life brings before us, I always want to be in the cinema and the theater. I hope we will meet on the screen and on the stage as in the TV series in the coming period. I miss playing in the theatre, I really love the theatre, being on the stage. Before the pandemic, I was away from the stage for a long time. That’s why, beyond longing, I should say that the pillar of my nose is aching.”
Who does she admire? In terms of inspiration, she is fed a little from every actor, even from every person. “There are names that I admire and see as role models, but they are countless. Examples of the actors that excite me the most are Meryl Streep, Marlon Brando and Viola Davis.”
How is she with social media? She uses social media as much as necessary. “Technology makes our lives so much easier and more enjoyable. We cannot deny this. On the other hand, the problems caused by technology sometimes spoil our taste. Everything has a light and dark side. I think it is always useful as long as it is used for its intended purpose. I think that a culture is still being formed, especially regarding social media. I believe it will become even more useful and enjoyable over time.”
What does she do at home? Apart from the set, she likes to be at home and spend time with her cats. “I have two wonderful cats, I love my house and spending time at home. I usually socialize at home, we meet at my dear friends’ house or at my house. That’s why this pandemic restrictions didn’t shake me too much.”
