Now, a new series is coming from the screenwriter of the series, Levent Cantek. Levent Cantek, who also wrote the screenplay for the most recent movie Bozkır, is writing a series about the life of Otello Kamil, one of the most important names in Turkish theater and who has an extremely impressive life story.

It is stated that the series, which is planned as eight episodes and whose shooting will begin in October, will be broadcast on one of the international digital platforms next summer. The producer of the series is Es Film, which is the company behind Halka, which has also signed successful projects such as Barbaroslar, Payitaht Abdülhamid, İsimsizler and Filinta.

Who is Otello Kamil?

Otello Kamil, whose real name is Kamil Rıza Bey, is known as the actor who introduced Shakespeare to Turkey. He is known as Otello Kamil for his role as Othello, which he played many times.

The actor, who first appeared on the stage as Abdullah Sergeant in the play Vatan Yahut Silistre, staged by the soldiers in the regiment in which his father was the commander, achieved great success with the role of Mitifigo in Alphonse Daudet’s play The Girl from Arles.
