Disney Plus starts broadcasting in Turkey on June 14. The digital platform is getting ready to meet the Turkish audience with projects like bombs. However, a project of the platform was delayed.
The first series of Disney Plus, which will start broadcasting on June 14, will be Kaçış (Escape). The escape series, starring Engin Akyürek and İrem Helvacıoğlu, was the first deal the platform made in Turkey. Filming in Gaziantep, in which Akyürek and Helvacıoğlu portray war correspondents, had been completed a while ago.
New projects of Disney Plus, which has signed many agreements one after the other, are on the way. However, one was cancelled. According to the news of journalist Birsen Altuntaş, the shooting of the series Siyaha Bulaşan Kadınlar (Women Contaminating Black), which was planned to be shot by Med Yapım, was postponed in 2023.
It was said that Beren Saat, Tuba Büyüküstün and Cansu Dere made offers for the series, adapted from Büşra Cebe’s best-selling novel of the same name and in which the striking story of six female characters will be told. However, none of these reports turned out to be true.
On top of that, it was announced last week that the first actress deal for the series was made. It was learned that Biran Damla Yılmaz, who still gives life to the character of Kumru in the Yasak Elma (Forbidden Apple) TV series, will take a role in the Siyaha Bulaşan Kadınlar series.
However, according to the latest news, the project of the series Siyaha Bulaşan Kadınlar has been postponed to next year. It was learned that this decision was taken because Disney Plus wanted to release more entertainment-oriented works in its first year.
Each character has a strong story in Siyaha Bulaşan Kadınlar, which is an ambitious production. In the book, it is emphasized that every black person leaves a trace, every trace tells a story, and every story has a hero. Tragic events occur in the story of the series, which will proceed on the idea that no heroes are normal, that super powers aside, super madness also exists in these heroes.
