Bir Zamanlar Kıbrıs (Once Upon a Time in Cyprus), starring Ahmet Kural, Serkan Çayoğlu, Pelin Karahan, Tayanç Ayaydın, Gülper Özdemir and Devrim Saltoğlu, starts on TRT 1 on Thursday, April 1 (tomorrow) with its highly anticipated first episode.
“Once Upon a Time in Cyprus”, which is about the struggle for existence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriots, whose preliminary preparation process lasted six months, was shot in the TRNC, will be reflected on the screen within the framework of historical facts. In the series, which attracts attention with its published promotions, the attack, which went down in history as the Bloody Christmas Night in 1963, will be screened in the first episode with all its reality.
The story of “Once Upon a Time in Cyprus”, which was produced by TMC Film and produced by Erol Avcı, was written by Emre Özdür, Başar Başaran and directed by Hakan İnan;
1963, Turks and Greeks live side by side in Cyprus. While family members who are separated from each other are driven out of their towns and start a forced migration, Kemal Dereli, the head of the family, becomes the leader of thousands of Turks on the migration path with his family.
Struggle for survival in Cyprus, sent a secret mission to the island from Turkey while Ankara will change the course of the event in Nicosia. The love of Ankara, who has turned into a secret hero on the island, and his fiancee, whom he fell apart, blended with longing and the struggle for life, intertwines with the story of the Dereli family. Rauf Denktaş-Dr Küçük and his families, Makaryos and other Greek leaders and the island of jasmine Cyprus play the leading roles in the story based on real events.
