The beautiful actress Pelin Karahan will come to the screen with the character of İnci in the series. Pelin Karahan, who will give life to İnci in the Once Upon a Time Cyprus (Bir Zamanlar Kıbrıs’ta) TV series, which will bring the struggle for existence of the Turkish Cypriot people to the screens, said, “Knowing that all these events are real and have happened, it gives me a very different feeling while playing”.
Preparing to meet the audience on TRT 1 screens, produced by TMC Film and produced by Erol Avcı, the beautiful actress Pelin in “Once Upon a Time in Cyprus” starring Ahmet Kural, Serkan Çayoğlu, Pelin Karahan, Tayanç Ayaydın, Gülper Özdemir and Devrim Saltoğlu. PELİN KARAHAN TELLS ABOUT THE İNCİ …
Kemal Dereli’s (Ahmet Kural) wife, mother of two daughters, İnci, will become the symbol of the strong woman fighting in the island’s struggle for existence. Expressing that he is very happy to portray İnci’s character, Karahan continues her words as follows:
“The character of İnci that I played is actually one of many families and women who were in the struggle of that time. He is one of the particular families of the island, who have seen, studied, been in his own way. He is married to Kemal and has two children. They have a nice happy home. Actually, everything starts pleasantly and well, but the night we call Bloody Christmas and the events that took place in the years that followed disintegrate and destroy the family. Inci’s stance is very important to me here. He will try to be useful to his nation and state. I am very happy to give life to İnci. Knowing that all these events are real and experienced makes me feel very different when I play. That’s why I think the audience will like it, will like it very much. ”
The screenplay of “Once Upon a Time in Cyprus”, which will bring the struggle for existence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people to the screens within the framework of historical events, is undertaken by Emre Özdür, Başar Başaran, and directed by Hakan İnan.
The subject of the series is; 1963, Turks and Greeks live side by side in Cyprus. The gum merchant Dereli family, who lead their joyful lives in the idyllic geography of the island, are attacked like other Turkish families with the start of the events known as Bloody Noel. While family members who are separated from each other are driven from their towns and start a forced migration, Kemal Dereli, the head of the family, becomes the leader of thousands of Turks on the migration path with his family.
