GENERAL IMPRESSION:

TRT’s “‘Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı Kıyam” series, which is about the Ottoman Empire period, was originally designed with the name “Burası Osmanlı: Sır Kanunu 1711”, but TRT General Manager İbrahim Şahin did not want the series in this form. As a justification, he showed that the work was of a documentary nature and not in a serial format. Later, there was a time jump in the series, some names were changed in the cast. The name of the series was changed to ‘Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı: Kıyam’. It was announced that the series, which was broadcast for a while, said goodbye to the screens after the season finale. But then it was said that the series was not removed, but that Cemal Hünal was excluded from the squad. The name of the series was changed to “Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı”. Cemal Hünal and Aslı Tandoğan were left out of the squad. Instead, Özcan Deniz joined the cast with the role of ‘Serhat’.

The series resumed with its second season on November 5, 2012. It was removed from the broadcast shortly after due to low ratings. The producer of the series, Burhan Özkan, said in a statement at that time, “Series begin and end. TRT wanted to end it. They didn’t say why. The management sent a statement stating that it did not find it suitable for an extension. We think that we are doing a job that is extremely respectful to history, cinema, television and the audience. We did not compromise on quality, we spared no expense. In the last three weeks, our rating has been on the rise. TRT was the fourth channel at the time the series aired. This week, we ranked 39th in the top 100 rankings. We stand behind all the work we do. We are determined and determined to make other history series in the future. We also respect TRT’s decision,”.

STORY:

In 1711, the Ottoman Empire defeated the Russian Empire, but then entered a period of stagnation. The story begins with Patrona Halil’s brother being hanged by the order of the sultan. During the period, the Ottoman Empire moved away from the war and mostly organized entertainments in the tulip gardens. Even though the Janissaries and some anti-sultan gangs that opposed this situation tried to organize, they did not dare to revolt. However, Patrona Halil is very resentful of his brother’s death and plans to stir up the people to dethrone the Sultan. Internal and external threats also seek to gain effectiveness. There are those who realize the conspiracy against the Sultan and the Ottoman Empire. But for some things it’s too late.
