The world’s entertainment giant has positioned Turkey not only as a market where it will sell its products, but also as a content production center. At this point, Engin Akyürek’s series Escape is of great importance for the platform.
So, what is the significance of the series for Engin Akyürek? First of all, it is a first in this sense that the actor wrote his story.
In other words, Engin Akyürek has made another dream come true. The story of the Escape series, which he wrote in 2017, was developed in the following period and today, as an 8-episode series, it became the opening project of Disney Plus’s Turkey operation.
Engin Akyürek not only took the lead role in the story he wrote, but also experienced something similar to the war correspondents he admired in his childhood, with this series.
At the launch, Engin Akyürek talked about his childhood admiration: “Following news, chasing the truth… I’ve been interested in war correspondents since my childhood. It is both challenging and interesting and exciting; It is interesting to chase the news, to catch the news, to smell the news.”
Engin Akyürek, who stated that they did not have any problems during the shooting, said that everything went well.
