Star TV’s new series Annemizi Saklarken, came up with a surprising story with its subject that puts the audience in the wrong corner. Hande Doğandemir’s character, who questioned the concept of motherhood, was a surprise to the audience with her unpredictable attitude.
In fact, it was tried to put forward an ambitious project that would attract attention with its starting point. However, some shortcomings that stand out in the story and cause the audience not to show much interest, brought the series to the screen with low ratings from the very first day!
Although the story is different and the cast is appreciated, there are many comments on social media about why the series did not catch on. Criticism has been coming to the series for which Sırma Yanık wrote the script.
The comments and criticisms of Anibal Güleroğlu, one of the bloggers of Milliyet, about the TV series Annemizi Saklarken, are actually the point of view of many viewers!
Hande Doğandemir plays Handan, a character far beyond the socially accepted ‘Mother’ image. She is a repulsive character with her selfish nature who thinks of herself before her children! In addition, another character who will be the engine of the series was spent in the first episode, two points that Annibal Güleroğlu also drew attention to!
Güleroğlu is of the opinion that a wrong move was made to attract the attention of the audience and says the following:
“The anxiety of attracting the audience must have prevailed from the first episode because the depth of the Dündar-Zerrin duo, which is the highlighting details of the story to be told, was thrown into the background and only the character of Handan was brought to the fore. Frankly, in this process, in order to collect points from Handan’s childlike mother behavior…”
Highlighting the character of Handan is a problem with the series from the beginning. At the same time, an incident from the first episode is another subject of criticism! Criticizing that the characters of Dündar and Zerrin remain in the background, Anibal Güleroğlu also thinks that sending a name like Zerrin who will contribute significantly to the story from the first episode is a mistake!
“The family environment of Dündar, who has a personality disorder but is around with his respectable identity and good father-husband profile, and Zerrin, who is seen as mentally ill by those around him, is not focused on. It was a big mistake to send Zerrin off with the suicide scene at the end of the first episode. However, Zerrin’s presence, which raises question marks, would have served both to keep the attention alive and to reflect Dundar’s true face in more detail.”
There is no problem with Hande Doğandemir’s acting, but Anibal Güleroğlu, who draws attention to the excess of exaggeration about the character she plays, shares the following view!
“Moreover, I would like to say that the flow, which takes Handan as the main element, exaggerates the attitudes of the character for this cause, putting them in a repulsive position rather than attractive. “
