US-based digital broadcasting platform Disney Plus is preparing to enter the Turkish market in August. The platform has already rolled up its sleeves to stand firm in front of the Turkish audience. The claim about the fees paid by the platform, which made deals with Turkey’s most ambitious actors and directors, surprised.

It continues to strengthen its platform staff, which has signed agreements with 15 very famous stars of Turkey, including Engin Akyürek, Can Yaman, Burak Deniz, Halit Ergenç, Hande Erçel. The platform spends millions of dollars for this purpose.

Evening newspaper columnist Barış Kocaoğlu talked about the fees Disney Plus paid to the actors. The wages written by Kocaoğlu are so high that it causes great surprise to those who see it.

According to Barış Kocaoğlu’s article, most of the fees per episode, which have not been seen anywhere before, have already been paid. Kocaoğlu wrote the following about the agreed wages in his article:

“Let’s take a look at the list: A special agreement was made with Şahan Gökbakar. The actor will continue the Recep İvedik series for the platform. It is said that he received more than 10 million dollars, or 140 million TL, for the deal. Halit Ergenç would receive the highest salary among the actors. It is said that he will receive $ 500 thousand per episode. So 7 million TL or even more.

The wages of Hande Erçel and Demet Özdemir will be 150 thousand dollars per episode. So 2 million 203 thousand TL. Names such as Aras Bulut İynemli, Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, Pınar Deniz, Yılmaz Erdoğan will receive much more.”

The platform also started shooting the series with the actors it signed with. The shooting of the first season of the TV series Kaçış (meaning: Escape), starring Engin Akyürek, was completed. It was followed by the set of the TV series Dünyayla Benim Aramda (meaning: Between the World and Me), directed by MF Production and starring Demet Özdemir, Buğra Gülsoy and Hafsanur Sancaktutan.
