Let’s talk the truth; A great injustice was done to the series of Masumiyet and Yalancı!

Yalancı series was broadcast on Show TV and lasted for 10 episodes. The timing of the series, starring Burçin Terzioğlu and Salih Bademci, coincided with a very good period. However, it was a great misfortune that the series was short-lived.

Like the fate of the Fox TV series called Masumiyet last season, Yalancı unfortunately did not find enough value despite its strong content. The fate of these two serials, which highlight the issue of violence against women and should leave their mark on the last period, is surprising.

We are living in a period in which the preferences of female viewers, especially in TV series, come to the fore at home. The issue of violence against women is one of the number one problems in our country in recent years. It is necessary to allow TV series containing violence against women to explode, to show sensitivity and to give long-term messages to the society.

However, neither the Masumiyet nor the Yalancı series could find the opportunity to adequately reveal this situation. Due to low ratings and high production costs, both shows ended their screen life early.

Like Masumiyet, which lasted 13 episodes, Yalancı, which lasted 10 episodes, was broadcast when it was most needed to show sensitivity to violence against women, but made a finale because it did not receive enough attention.

Both series have another thing in common. These two TV series tried to explain how primitive impulses children of educated, cultured and even good families actually have and how they can get rid of them if they find the opportunity.

It is a great loss that neither Masumiyet nor Yalancı TV series have been able to raise awareness at a time when women feel uneasy on the street, bad things have happened to many women, and violence and murders against women have increased.

The issue of why TV series viewers do not show much interest in such productions that focus on social problems and are concerned with empathizing and giving a message is another point that needs to be investigated.
